Started even before that! There's an interview somewhere with Zeddyzi and ToonBoom I think. They mentioned that the 3 characters started as "Neopet-like" animal things when zeddyzi was a kid, but they changed to humans when zeddyzi grew out of the neopet phase. It's a pretty interesting interview!

10:27 no, its cause the baby said 'stone' (which is the characters name) 1:49 that "oh, they're scraps" awakened the theorist in me after the whole 'scrapbook' bit. they are actually in a scrapbook, but they are characters that got 'scrapped', which is why they are in the alleys and shadows, they arent the main focus (lore-wise, irl-wise they are literally the mc's)

Stone is IRISH

As someone who is trying to make my own animated series, Ramshackle is a huge inspiration to me. This is only the Pilot, so I expect an actual story once more gets made, and I’m am super excited for it.

@@MaiNozomaki_essi thank you. That is a kind offer, and if I was anywhere close to ready to start animating, I would accept. I’ve had the idea for this story for about a year now, but I’ve never really expanded on it. I only started seriously working on it in late March. I want to at least finish the story (maybe the storyboard too) before enlisting any help. And while I’m writing the outline, I’ll also be working on my artistic skills, concept arts, and character designs. Not to mention the extra research I have to do on history and mythology to get the appropriate material for a consistent background. All in all, I expect 2-3 years till I can start animating with intent to finish. Genuinely, thanks for the offer though. 😁

Ramshackle started as a thesis film, became a webtoon, now has finally gotten a pilot!

Fun fact (For newer fans): The girl with the lollipop at the end is Stone's sister

The artstyle for this looks really well done, The animators did well putting in the Defined Lines and such.

I was really hoping you'd watch this. I watched the original (which was actually a thesis film) a few months ago. 2:42 Considering her, she probably did.

7:26 As a baby, whenever my family went to a restaurant, I would cry until my mom would give me a bite of her salad.

So great to see so many cool indie animations! Vivziepop really ignited a revolution.

@@lightningbolt9155yea ur partially correct, the oc’s go way back to 2010 but originally the oc’s made it to a webtoon comic. The actual animated show was planned a year ago or so.

Vivziepop and Glitch both likely had a really big hand in inspiring so many people. I remember a segment of the GLITCHX livestream where they gave Ramshackle a shoutout. GLITCHX is what originally inspired me to start working on my own animated series too. I’m far from done, but things are progressing.

You should also react to the Ramshackle thesis! It was released before the pilot, then it was successful, so the pilot was created eventually. It’s like 2 mins long

Ok time for me to suggest an indie animation series too. Autodale, by Dead Sound on KZread. There is the series itself, and a series of videos of the creator talking about the creative process of the episodes. A pretty good watch if you ask me.

That was fun, but what is it with this aesthetic, this, Unicorn: Warriors Eternal, Lackadaisy, etc.? Is it that the dresses make the women's butts look big?

I just finished watching the pilot and now i am hyperfixated on it

If the orphanages are anything like they were from the time period the show seems to be sort of imitating then she had a right to be concerned with leaving the baby in the care of one. Hell, even _now_ it's a complete crap shoot that you would end up in a somewhat reliable place.

If you're taking recommendations, might I recommend Daria Cohen's Vampaire series? The animation is truly top notch, though the music might mean needing to get creative with editing.

a little late to the party, but if I remember correctly, Skipp's VA is Dutch. But not sure which dialect, my former foster family comes from Zwolle, so there's a harshness in their dialect..
