Originally GX2's song. ມອງ (pronounced 'mong') is a fishing net in Lao. In this song, the fishing net is a metaphor for GX2's pursuit of a love interest that is out of reach. After losing his girl, he tries to win her back unsuccessfully, as she swims right through the metaphorical net. He says ironically that, if he were to use a real fishing net, he would at least catch a real fish. Nevertheless, he is persistent in his pursuit of this hard-to-get girl. Other metaphors used in this song are bamboo shoots, fish, crabs, and rice fields -- common metaphors in Lao folk music to symbolize fertility, marriage, and child rearing. This is the song that inspired the name of the group "Louk Khei Sai Mong", which translates to the fisherman son-in-law.
