Through The Dunakanyar Area From Nagymaros I HU - To Observation Tower And Hermit Cave Over Danube
Dunakanyar has different meanings and may tag a bit different sections of the Danube river. One of them is the steep and therefore quite pretty meander of the Danube river next to Visegrád. It flows between lower mountains of volcanic origin, in addition, its panorama is complemented by Visegrád Castle, the Salamon Tower and towns located by the river such as Nagymaros, the eponymous Visegrád and others. Surprisingly, the Danube here looks somewhat wilder, more predatory and, above all, more natural than in the more northerly metropolises. It is surrounded by wooded hills with an altitude of about 500m providing diverse views and plenty of hiking trails and lookout towers.
Our circuit, full of views of this nice piece of country, led from Nagymaros, when we took a glimpse into its center and then ascended the adjacent ridge and continued slightly up to the Julianus-kilatótorony viewpoint. The path to Remete-barlang Cave surprised us, as it soon began to descend sharply and was also quite slippery due to dust on the trail. In the section continuing back to Nagymaros, it was interspersed with fallen trees. Trouble-free walk on the straight :-) Danube embankment in the final part of the hike then fell quite well.

▪️ the small town of Nagymaros with an old-world and somewhat Mediterranean atmosphere
▪️ above the town - views of the opposite Visegrád - the former seat of Hungarian kings and the place of signing the Visegrad Agreement
▪️ Büdös-tó - a little lake on the hill ridge
▪️ historical observation tower on the hill Hegyes-tető 482m called Julianus-kilátótorony from 1938 - excellent view of the Danube in two sections/directions
▪️ mysterious research geological shafts Kutatóakna
▪️ Remete-barlang (Hermit's cave) - several at the time of Ancient Rome artificially excavated caves, in the Middle Ages there was probably a chapel, the dark color of the surfaces indicates the volcanic origin of local rocks, good views of the river
▪️ benches by the Danube - views of Visegrád again

Terrain: asphalt, dirt and forest roads, the route led mostly through the forest, a steep slope when descending and continuing the path from the cave - sturdy and non-slip shoes will help
Difficulty: rather undemanding

Vďaka za komentár, svetlušky sa u nás práve roja, resp. minulý týždeň sa rojili priamo v mestskom lesíku. Skúste niekedy večer pozrieť, najlepšie asi nie rovno po daždi, vtedy ich je viac. Je to magický zážitok, perfektne blikajú.
Othom. Koszi szepen. Spartakus osveny is nice also. Dobogoko hegy, Predikaloszek, etc. I went this hills hundred of times. Fellegvar mostly. Szep.

@@ValkoBranislav No, máme to prispôsobené v podstate na túry aby sme to mali po ruke pokiaľ možno. Čiže trošku iné točenie ako ked je človek zameraný na top zábery na zver napr. Takže nedá sa asi všetko naraz no, ale sme dvaja takže hneď je viac možností 🙂
Pekné zábery, tá lavra čo sa posúva chvostom, riadne scifi :) Cez Vyšehrad sme šli po Dunaji, majú tam dobrý paprikáš zo sumca :)

Ahoj, díky. Tieto miesta sme si podľa zdrojov z internetu nevedeli úplne predstaviť, ale v skutočnosti boli tak pekné, že nás celkom uchvátili 👌. Svetlušky sa najskôr práve roja, pravdepodobnosť, že ich človek uvidí, je zvýšená. My sme teraz nedávno nejaké videli 🐝
Ahojte, to se vám zase povedlo. Toulání krásnými místy. Pohledy na Dunaj fascinující. Působivé záběry detailů. 2.50 skvělá práce průvodce 🤩🤩🤩 i super klouzačka. Hezky jste si to užili a my s vámí ❤ tak zase někdy...
