Been listening to you guys for just over 2 years now and I couldn't be more grateful because I have been able to unlearn the false and incorrect doctrine from my parents poor choice of Pentecostal churches that I was forced to attend when I was younger. I like possibility 4, too

Pastor Brett when talking about Baptism mentioned the thief on the cross was not Baptized however when the thief was on the cross Baptism was not yet a command of Jesus the Christ. Baptism became a command of Jesus right before Jesus ascended into Heaven.

Jesus explains about being born of water in the next chapter. Go to John 4:14. So He means to be born again with the living water that He gives, which is freedom from the sin and eternal life! The water is Him!

Baptism is a public confirmation of one's faith and conversion, but is *not* integral to salvation. One has to repent and confess that Jesus is Lord, and it is both a personal choice and action and cannot be done on behalf of someone else (this is why I don't believe in infant - baby - baptism/christening. One cannot guarantee if the parents and godparents will keep the promises made to G-d the Father, who will not forget them), though *prayer* for someone to be saved is good.

Why over complicated the Bible ?? If it says of water then means of water aka baptism which even Jesus took to show an example for us !!!

Baptism is not a work of righteousness any more than faith or belief is a work. Give me a break. Rise and be baptised washing away your sins calling on his name
