BREATHE // LYRICS
I'm fade to black as a search for the light
Can you bring me back from this unconscious life?
Can you show me the way I'm lost in the dark
I've fallen apart, can you unbreak my heart?
So I can breathe
Before I suffocate
Before it's all too late, before I die this way
I need to breathe, before I sleep away
But there's something left to say
Can you help me
I need to breathe
I hear the angels calling, can you send one down?
I see the demons crawling, everywhere around
Can you pull me out from the mess I've made
Before my lungs collapse and there's no turning back?
I need breathe
Before I suffocate
Before it's all too late, before I die this way
I need to breathe, before I sleep away
But there's something left to say
Can you help me I need to breathe
I need to breathe
Can you hear me I'm screaming
I'm broken down, I'm bleeding
I'll be making through
I need you
I'm fade to black as a search for the light
Can you bring me back from this unconscious life? (help me)
Breathe before I suffocate
Before it's all too late, before I die this way
I need to breathe, before I sleep away
But there's something left to say
Can you help me?
I need to breathe, before I sleep away (rescue me)
I need to breathe, before it's all too late (rescue me)
I need to breathe, before I die this way (rescue me)
I need to breathe, I need to I need to I need to (rescue me)
I need to breathe

You're so right! I literally just pulled my phone out of my pocket and it had randomly searched "I need to breathe" through google assistant like I had spoke it and it pulled this song up. I don't know how that even happened. I didn't even say those words while it was in my pocket, neither did anyone else. I decided to listen to it and this song hit me spot on. Crazy how things happen. May have been our ghost that said it to be honest

I love the fact that there are a number of hard rock bands that are calling attention to the plight of our homeless veterans. We need to do more. Disturbed and FFDP also are incredible supporters of our veterans, police, and first responders.

God Bless you guys for this song, this video and for the message. In 1990, this was almost me. I was medically discharged from the Army and my mother was very unhappy that I had come back home. She didn't want me around- to her I was worthless and a failure. She kicked me out after an argument. Thankfully, my grandparents took in. It took about a year to really get back on my feet again, but I did it. Without my grandparents, I would have never made it. I lost them both to cancer and old age and I can never repay them for their unconditional love. The homeless are very dear to my heart and I always try to make someone's life just a little brighter- if even for a moment or two. Next time you pass a homeless person, give them a smile, some money, buy them a meal. You never know just how much your kindness means to them.

For those of you that don't know the name of this genre of music it's Nu Metal. Through Fire is an excellent addition to any Nu Metal playlist. The Genre itself really does embody the early 2000's, which is a good thing in my book.

I have to give Through Fire a lot of respect for this song. I personally deal with the homeless population where I live, and not all of the people on the streets CHOOSE to be there. It is thru the economy and hardships of the way its going that put a lot of people on the streets. If people stopped and talked to someone on the streets they would know that its not by their choice alone that they are there and are made to suffer. Sure there are some that did things to put themselves there but not all and we as a whole don't have the right to judge someone for the way or where they live. I know that where we work we are luckily enough to be able to find jobs for the homeless and give them a sense of pride in themselves again . Thank you for making a video that shows a different side of the homeless population.

@@jimmyv1753 I was 20 years old, been assaulted with a baseball bat for throwing my sister's drunk landlord out of her apartment where he was being belligerent. I had to have emergency exploratory and also have my spleen removed... Less then a month from leaving the hospital I was supposed to still be on bed rest... I had 32 Staples that ran from my belt line all the way to my breast bone... I lost my apartment, especially given the fact that the guy who hit me with the bat and that I threw out of my sister's was also my landlord... (I have done a lot of definitely not bright decisions though out my life.) My girlfriend at that time lost her place as well... I had a home, my stepdad and his girlfriend let me move in with them out in the country. I was there a week or so and then packed a duffle bag and decided the only way for my girlfriend to get her kids back and us have a home is if I tried to find a job, but no vehicle and my surgery really had me limited... With duffle bag packed I went to the city... I still remember my oldest sister the weekend she seen me with the duffle bag at here friends house where I meet her when she came I for the weekend to visit family... She even offered for me to move up with her husband and kids in there place... She was in tears as I told her I couldn't... I slept at night I them rent to own storage barns they deliver to people's houses. I would leave before the business opened up the next morning... The truck stop just outside of town had showers and laundry mat. Didn't take long and what little money I had left and I was completely broke. I would nap where I could during day time as well.. I was ran off several times from resting on park benches... I eventually seen an add for open interviews for night janitorial work... They where an out of town job where you where required to travel to adjacent cities... I got the job but lied to get the job... You where required to have a vehicle for this job. The interview was on a Friday and I had till Monday to figure out how I was going make a vehicle magically appear because I had to have this job... On Sunday night I called the owner and asked if there was any way I could catch ride till my first check because my transmission went out on my truck... I would meet one of the other workers at different locations in town each night.. it didn't take long for one the guys to put it together that I was homeless because when dropped me off each night one of the nights he had circled back to where I had him drop me which was a place I could stash my duffle bags.. Anyways he seen me with duffle bag walking... I explained it all and he helped with no longer having stash my bag each night and kept my bag in his car while we worked... With my first check I bought a beat up truck... Still sleeping in the storage barns for the three sometimes four hours before the business would open... After my third check I was able to rent my first trailer... Oh forgot to mention that along with janitorial work the company did stripping and waxing of tile floors in grocery, department, and other stores... If you know anything about stripping them type floors, when the stripper is applied and is activated and working, its one very slippery dangerous surface to walk. Or work on... Especially with my stomach incision and my stomach muscles trying heal... Needless to say I tore my incision and ended up ripping my stomach muscles and giving myself two hernias from swinging the mop and trying ice skate over the floor stripper over the tile... But I grinned and headed it and pushed through never telling them at my work of my surgery or any of the new issues... A person once told me, homeless by choice is not the same as homeless... I have been homeless a lot of times in my life. From doing so just so I could be in the same town as my kids, to going on the run bail jumping leaving my home so no one in my home would be charged with harboring a fugitive, to letting my addiction two everything I cared about... To the reason of my last time and now current situation of I tried to help my great aunt keep her property by becoming a squatter as other family members put her in nursing home and sold off everything of hers... I gave up everything of one and have lost our families property almost all my personal possessions ended up with present charges and in two days now face losing my freedom... But regardless through all this I couldn't find the will power and fight In myself to pick myself up and turn any of this around... Nor was able to be the dad my oldest daughter needed her dad to be to help her not repeat my mistakes in life. I couldn't help her when she was homeless, nor my sister, or my sons mom when she was on the streets either... which all that happening in last year and my great aunt also passed away... I at one time was the guy that helped fix everything for everyone in my family and circle of close friends... I reflect and know it's not just my heart that's been breaking the past couple years, those of my loved ones and close friends as well as they have watched me spiraling down killing myself continuely... Family and friends have had to turn there backs and close there doors to me to prove themselves from the same of destruction left in my path... I've had to do the same as them before I my lifetime and it hurts just as much on either side of the fence... I feel blessed to have had my life touched by those I have shared my journeys with... Sorry so long and all over the board with this post. I usually don't reply post on KZread but really needed to today I guess... Thank you to any and all who read part or all of this... The videos and comments have been what saved my life several times and keep me (blinking siezures, damn it getting hard to keep typing) Thank u all n Luvz... Sincerely, Me, Myself, and I... As well as Ripzer

Man I miss the sound of modern rock music like this. I got really into electronic music for the past 5-6 years but after finding Through Fire, it just brings back memories of listening to Skillet, Seether, 12 Stones, Breaking Benjamin (and many more) during middle school and high school.

First heard this song in the Paradise City movie and started searching for it, and behold! I like the song and the band's performance of the song, thumbs up from me. For the message behind the notes: The homeless situation is complicated and my heart goes out to the mentally and emotionally damaged people and those who happen onto temporary difficult times. May God have mercy and grace on you. Many of us happen onto difficult times in life, including me. For the others who chose the life style, are bums, drug users, or too lazy to face and change their circumstances, you reap what you sow.

Unbelievably depressed I listened to this song on a loop at this very time last year. At the end of this month, it was like my constant cry for help was finally answered. I was rescued in the form of my past; I’m so much better all around now. I don’t cry at the drop of a hat anymore, I’m passed my days of abusing alcohol/self-harming and I no longer have thoughts of ending my life. Circumstances haven’t much changed but I have a whole new perspective on life now. I don’t let every little thing get me down and I look for the positive in all things that happen. Everything happens for a reason: good or bad. I believe this song helped me to get to that.

I've been listening to this song nonstop since Sunday, when I got the call from my mom that my grandfather had passed away. I feel so much loss right now....this song speaks to my soul! He'll be so greatly missed...they'll never be another man like him. But I also know he's finally at peace and reunited with my grandmother, who passed away in August of 1997 from cancer. They were apart for 26 years. 😢

I'm a union carpenter. When I was working in Portland Oregon at this one job there was a homeless camp right next to where we parked. One day the wind picked up some of my lighter gear n sent it flying n this homeless man brought it back to me. We talked for awhile n everyday after that I'd bring extra food n things for him. I'd sit next to him, talk n eat before I'd go home. One of the nicest guys I ever met. I don't know what happened to him tho. After a few weeks he just disappeared. I'd look for him but I never saw him again. It's been about 2 years, still wonder if he's ok. He didn't deserve to be on the streets.
