And if Leah is open to it, a tour of her new apartment would be lovely. Once she gets it all set up.

Yes it is. I have one on my shelf. Great find!!
That little wooden stand you could put pumpkins on for fall or little trees for Xmas oh my endless possibilities
I gave a painting to Goodwill when I first moved to Chattanooga and 10 years later I saw it for sale in another Goodwill across town. I recognized it because of a little flaw on the side of it. I guess someone else bought it and then later donated it. Can you believe I bought it again! lol I am living in a different house now and it is just what I needed to style the downstairs bath. --Sheila McDade
The blue dishes that you asked about are Currier and Ives. They were a grocery store premium through A&P I believe. You got coupons or stamps with your grocery store purchase and then could redeem them for different pieces in that pattern. My grandmother had a complete set and I grew up eating from those dishes. Quite fond memories of family meals on those dishes.

My mom had some of a sister set to Currier & Ives, Old Curiosity Shop, that are green and white. She got them at Safeway with grocery purchases, just as you described. I loved them and have a full set today that I use for holiday tables.

The aqua vase with the red Chrysanthemum is from Anthropologie. I bought two of them a few years ago and they were expensive. You do have to be careful not to break off the flower petals.

Loved the cameo from Kelly. She was so lovely!
My mom had a set of those blue dishes in the 1960s. That French tobacco basket should be hung on a wall. It is gorgeous.
I’m heartbroken to see a beautiful Miribillia cross stitched piece at Goodwill…the craftsman who stitched it spent hours on it and I buy those anytime I can to save them! I hope a stitcher sees it and snatched it up for their collection!!! It’s beautiful ❤

Vater is a german name, are there any ancestors from Germany?
I saw another KZreadr strip an old wood furniture piece with Easy Off oven cleaner. It looked easy to do and it beautifully removed the old varnish and stain and left the wood natural and rustic. If you don't like how it looks you can always paint it.
I noticed you put the clothes pins down. We use clothes pins instead of those plastic chip clips to secure any leftovers!! 😊 I've also used them for non-food items that come in bags.

Yes, wood/spring clothespins are so versatile. I use them in so many ways including closure on chip/snack food bags.
Linda. That piece screamed you. A candle holder, a plant stand with even small topiaries. Also a Center piece on a charcuterie board/table with nuts, olives etc.
My friend's parents had that little round, 2 tiered table when they lived next door in the 60s. They had an entire set of American "western" looking furniture. Likely purchased in the mid 50s when they married. They still use it in their home. They're in their 90s now and celebrated 70th anniversary last year. That table will last you forever!! : )

Soft sage green that would work any time of the year. Love that too!!
Plant stand idea….paint it a distressed white chalk paint…use it for candles too ! Great finds !!
The table looked perfect and one of a kind in Leah's corner. You two have a mother daughter ease together. Now.. did Stuart get that lamp? Hope so. Thank you for a nice Sunday ladles ❤
The needlework of the bride is stunning. It's vintage and there's SO much work in that piece. How sad nobody wanted it. I'd paint that stand black. The Elements candleholder (if that's what it is) is from Walmart. I think that's one of their brands. You girls got some great items.

I have that piece half finished that my Mom was making for me when she died. I've been trying to finish it -it's alot of work. I also can't believe someone gave that to GW.
My first thought when I saw the plant stand was styling it with unusual pumpkins/gourds and autumn leaves. Loved this video!
the table is maple - it was originally for the telephone. the phone sat on top and the phone books would be underneath. GREAT FIND - totally resellable!

I had one of those low bowls, I bought in Canada about 15 years ago. It was a high gloss black.
Hi Linda. I would spray it dull bronze. Nice for your Christmas displays and great to use on your garden table. Love from England.
I have that turquoise vase with the orange flower. It's from Anthropologie. My dil gave it to me for Christmas 6 or 7 years ago, along with a smaller one that's orange with a white flower. I love them so much!
Thank you for taking us shopping with you. Soooo much fun !!
I have loved going to thrift stores since I was a teenager. It's so interesting to see what others discover in different stores around the country. You scored some fabulous finds! The tiered piece you found is divine and gives you so many options. It's a showstopper for sure. You spotted some dishware that you said you grew up with. That's the Yorktowne pattern by Pfaltzgraff and was my first set of dishes when I moved out on my own into my first home at age 21. I bought it at a Salvation Army store and added to the collection over the years. I loved that stoneware! Leah is adorable, and I wish her all the best in her new apartment. You both have great style. Thanks for taking us along with you. - xx, Carla
I think the tobacco basket would be lovely on your island this fall to serve hors d’oeuvres. Line it with parchment or plastic wrap then a pretty layer of lettuce with goodies on top.
Love all your finds! Especially the tobacco basket.

Use oven cleaner to strip it! It’s super easy and it will give you the look you’re wanting!
Sorry- dump the budda pillow
The multi-level stand would look good rough sanded then apply Linseed oil or a finishing paste wax (Miniwax). Then it would be neutral enough to use in many different scenarios. Also, wouldn’t need storing if displayed around the cottage.
Absolutely loved this thrifting video and hope you do more!!! I’m actually going this week with a friend and you girls gave me some ideas!!

Im 62 and i furnished all my apts with garage sale and thrift shop items!!!! Even did some with my homes when i was married.... And in the small house iam in currently! My parents tell people I decorate in " EARLY AMERICAN THRIFT" 😊
I love your ideas for the tier stand, you both made excellent choices!!!!!!!😊 those socks 🧦 look like McKenzie child’s!!!! Fun, fun, fun!!!!!
I absolutely love that vase, and I think it would look awesome at Christmas time with an amaryllis and some holly. It would also be charming with some twisty, narley limbs/twigs, or simple greenery. The possibilities are endless! I would consider doing like a gold leaf effect on the tired plant stand; that could elevate the look, but it could still be dressed down with the great mossy pots. It could also be amazing painted flat black. Great finds!
That stand would look cute for your hat collection in your entryway.

I love these thrift videos! Sooo fun!
It’s so funny the younger generation are liking the grandma chic style. You two found some nice stuff.
What a fun show! It’s so much fun to go thrift shopping with a friend. I no longer have a thrifting buddy as I moved. Sure do miss her. It was fun to watch the two of you. Leah is such a doll and how great that you met a friend and fellow thrifter. 😊
I bought several 5x7 picture frames at thrift stores for a photo wall, then painted them all with a bronze paint to unify them.
Such a blast to go thrifting along with you! Thrifting is affordable therapy!
Spray the wooden stand with oven cleaner. It will take it to the bare wood. I love the look after using it.

Yes! I love when it takes away the old shine and warms the wood!
I love the turquoise vase!!
I would paint it white to go with your cabinets and counters. It won’t be so busy because when you add items, it would be busy enough 🤗 great find! Love the tiers. Can’t wait to see what you finally you decide. 😊
Hi Linda. I love going to our Goodwill too. The plant stand would be pretty painted the blue that is in the glasses in your kitchen. Love what you have done with your cottage and the garden. Recently I watched some of your tours from last year and it was fun finding items that were now in your cottage and used in different ways!
Thank you, It has been some time since we got to enjoy a thrifting trip with you!
Yay! I love your thrifting shows! I would try sanding the plant stand first, just to remove the varnish and some of the stain. I think the old worn look is gorgeous. Nicely done ladies and Stuart!!

Hey Teresa!!! Thank you babe!😊❤
Love the things you both found and how you styled them! Thanks for taking us thrifting with you 💕💕
I bought the aqua vase with the coral flower for my daughter a few years back at Anthropology!
Leah's table, basket and brass planter look very nice placed in the corner. Love the multi tiered plant stand and the metal basket! I would leave the plant stand the way it is!
I love the finds! Especially your tiered piece. I love it as is- I wouldn’t change it because it has so much character! Love you and Stuart!!!
That plant stand turned out to be cooler than I thought! 😂 Love the olive bar idea. However you decide to paint or stain it, I think a matte finish would work best.
I love the thrift vids. The 4 tier candle/plant stand, the big flat basket and the vase with coral would have ALL come home with me. 🎉🎉
Combining ferns and candles might be nice for summer, ornaments and and poinsettias for Christmas, so many possibilities
Paint it the color of your floors! Love it! Metal bowl is a win too. Painting the Denver metal pieces gold is a current trend. I even love the “fun” vase lol
I was not a thrifter but a friend got me into it. I purchased a beautiful grandfather clock at a local thrift shop. They said it worked but by the time we got it home it only works when it wants, but it is a beautiful piece of furniture and when it does run and chime’s we turn down the TV or radio and just love the sound. I had the perfect place for it and I am thrilled with it. WatchING this video has me in the mood, now I might have to go tomorrow, the cleanIng can wait!! Linda, PA.

Your thrift store plays great tunes! 🛒🎸🥁🎼. I always love watching your thrifting adventures!
Linda!! I have my grandmother’s blue Willow dishes with that same exact pattern!! I’m 56 yrs old and she’s had them my whole life! ❤❤❤
Linda I just got my new hose that you like so much and I love it. It is a pleasure now to water everything in my yard and not have to lug around that heavy old hose. I immediately got another one for daughter in law and she also loves it. I look forward to all your videos and they are the highlight of my week. We are in the process of downsizing and it a difficult process as I hate to leave my yard and home so keep me in your thoughts.❤

The stand is beautiful. ! Your idea is great. I think you should change it for the seasons. Display food for a party!
That stand would be great as herb theatre. The smell of fresh herbs would be great on your kitchen island.
I love your thrifting trips! I have been thrifting since 1968 when I worked on the set for our high school production of Arsenic and Old Lace. My friends and I found furniture, rugs, wall art, and costumes at AMVETS and Goodwill on Summer Avenue in Memphis, TN. After that experience I was addicted to thrifting. I have lived in 11 different cities in my 72 years and thrifted in all of them, even when I lived in Spain for 3 years. In the old days I never admitted where I bought a thrifted item because of the stigma but now that it is popular, I respond to compliments by saying, “$4.50 at Goodwill!” with a wink. -Sheila McDade in Chattanooga, TN
I loved the table Leah got and I loved the metal bowl and your 3 tiered stand Linda. These are my favorite kinds of topics. Have a great week.
The blue vase with the red flower on it is from anthropology! My daughters gifted me one years ago and I love it! ❤

I adored this video. These are absolutely my favourite kind to watch. I love that you always talk through the whole of your thrifting trip and don't put music over the top instead. ❤ My mum was always my best thrifting friend and we've had so many wonderful trips together over the years. She now has dementia and has lost all interest in spending time together in this way, which just breaks my heart. It was wonderful to watch your trip with Leah and the mother/daughter vibe that you too have. It made me sad and so comforted all at once. Please don't let this be the last one! Xxx
I have been thrifting since college over thirty years ago. My favorite place to get things was Buchanan’s flea market at the OKC Fairgrounds. Then the big flea markets in Atlanta when I moved there. I lived in apartments for many years fully furnished with my thrifted finds. When I moved into my house finally I had most everything I needed from years of gathering. Most of my furnishings were bought and super great prices and instill love all of it. Including my vintage French sofa bought at Spivey’s when it was down on 23rd street.

Wonderful story!! I try to hit the Atlanta markets whenever I can! Love the Scott Show!!
I bought the steel hose and love it. Thanks for sharing.
I love everything you bought, but the plant stand... is beautiful! I see it painted white with the terra cotta pots. I love the whites and woods look and that would definitely catch my eye for so many uses. I also could see it a navy blue or dark charcoal and have the lighter colored pots on it. I think a small, lighter honey colored wicker bowl would hold your peppers beautifully. Also, Leah's vintage wooden double stack table looks so good styled in her apartment. Love the thrifting videos!! Tfs❤
Royal China, USA in the "Currier and Ives" pattern, in blue. Was made from about 1950 to 1970s, though some pieces were made later. They sold calendar plates at least through 1984 (I own the 1975, 1977 and 1981 calendar plates. This was my first ever pattern to collect. I started with one thrifted plate in 1982, which my mom had sent via my sister, with a birthday cake on it. She didn't intend to give me the plate, only the cake, but I fell in love with the plate! She said she had bought it at a garage sale for 5 cents. I had never noticed it before, but then I started finding it everywhere. I loved that every different size piece had a different picture on it. I eventually collected almost all the extra serving pieces, including the full tea set, a cake set, a three tiered server, some of the glass tumblers, and enough place settings to serve about 25 people! Still have it all too, though it's packed up right now. I'm really hoping my granddaughter wants some of it some day so I can pass it on, but we'll see. She's not really into grand-millennial style in the kitchen yet, though she did take a couple of my vintage quilts for her apartment.
Question of the day: I might try faux pickling it. I think you could take and rub white paint on it. I’d try it on the underside first to see if it worked. Or another idea is to use that Formby’s finish reviver on it. That might really perk up the finish.
Some great finds, Linda. My suggestion for the stand…I would paint it white. Since you’re bringing in blue and white….maybe a little dark blue sponge painting over the white or visa versa. It would have more of a ceramic look. 💖😊
Like you...I wish I had known about thrift stores when I was in my 20's and starting out. Although I might not have had the money available...I love thrifting and you are right: it is fun, it is the hunt, and I find such wonderful things!!! I really liked your large basket, the plant stand which if you don't like the finish I would paint it black, and I also liked your vase. Both you and Leah purchased great finds. Please do more of these....so much fun. Besides...I am running out of room at my house!!!
So fun! Leah has a great eye! That table is perfect in her apartment. So refreshing to see her vintage style that I grew up with in the 60s. 😆 I’m a little over all the mid-century modern that you see these days.
Love love love the multi tiered stand!!!, so many possibilties! The first thing i thought of when i saw it was little potted trees at Christmas. So glad you got it. What a fun shopping/thrifting trip. Thrifting is my "happy place". Hugs & blessings from Texas ❤🦋
Yes!! I love that chair they just brought out!! Watching while cooking dinner. 😊
Re question of the day: I still have the blue dishes, minus many pieces that I've broken or chipped over the years. The company is Royal China and the pattern is Currier & Ives. I've also donated some servings, as I don't need as many as I used to, but my favorite is the large pie dish in that pattern, which is loving used often.
This was fun! Always great ideas for things! I love the table Leah found! So great!
That patio chair was a steal! ($299) Can't believe you left it behind. Love this thrifting episode, you give us such great inspiration and advice.

Yeah, I would’ve grabbed that!!
I am *completely* in love with the vase. Absolutely unique and just marvelous. The piece on the front of it looks like a chrysanthemum to me. The stand...another amazing find. I think you and I have very similar styles. Me, I would strip the base and platforms until you had just a nice raw wood look to them and I would paint the stems a wonderful brassy gold, maybe a slightly metallic, shimmery gold.
I loved this video and all the neat ideas!!
What fun! I love thrifting. I always look for wooden bowls, canning jars with the lids, drinking glasses most especially etched glass, vintage green, and candles. And of course clothes.😂 With the "pepper pots" display piece I would start with just a good sanding and see what it looks like roughed up, you can always paint if you dont like. What a great piece! LOVE the aqua vase with the red coral on the front! And Leah got a steal of a deal on the maple table.....very Ethan Allen 70s colonial. I would have taken the orangy red dresser....good for entry, kitchen, hallway or just anywhere it might fit! Love these thrifting videos!
I love your thrifting videos! 🎉 Leah brings another perspective in, just love it!
I love 💕 the plant stand sooooo much , great find
