When I was 20, many years ago, I worked in a little thrift store. This lady bought a painting from us for $25 because it had a nice frame. About 6 months later she came in with a check for my boss for 30,000. Turns out, there was a painting behind it that was worth over $300,000.

When I was a child , we had a neighbor who was a “:loner” hoarder ( we didn’t know about hoarders as such) . What we all knew , that in spite of living in a very nice house ( on the outside), we also knew that he “ hung around “ our local goodwill, almost every day, and that he bought “ stuff “ all the time. When he passed away, we found out that he was “ from the Netherlands” . The neighborhood gossip, was that his house was full, and piled high with many wrapped up “ things , and pictures and that one could not access his kitchen and barely the toilet. ( We never knew who inherited the house) . However, he did bequeath the The entire contents to the Goodwill . Some time after his death our local news reported that one of the pictures was by a very famous “ Dutch” painter ( no name published) . The painting at that time was appraised for over a million dollars ( so the story goes) .

I'm surprised they let him buy an unpriced item. Where I live, if you try to buy an unpriced item they say come back for it tomorrow (and hope it's still here) once we've repriced it.

When they stop spending money in the US to lobby against LGBQ+ and woman’s rights I’ll support them. I don’t think it’s right to force religious beliefs on other people.

Buy the black panther, but put oval glass top on it.....yes!

Oh man, that black panther table brought back memories. In the mid 90s my mom and stepdad had our whole living room black panther everything. We had a panther coffee table like the one in the video except it was just the panther and it was matte black.

“Not so carefree when you get in trouble from your husband and/or wife.” I like how Alex is not here to judge. 😂

Be sure to check it all over for chips and cracks. If it's pristine it will make a terrific coffee table. I picture an oval glass top.

The "TeaTime" sign found the perfect home in your store. Was meant to be right there!

I traveled Europe a lifetime ago (1988) and watching the glass blowers in Venice was amazing. Definitely something I’ll never forget!

I found a marble chess set at good will for around $15 u.s.. Turned out it was worth around $200 u.s.. it was quite the find. I love thrifting!! 😊😊😊😊.

the panther gives me of a mid century vibe. cool. I would buy if I were you. great garden piece or inside as well.

So true, I have never seen a black panther this size, if I was there I would have purchased it $50 bucks is a steal!

I was in Venice and had the pleasure to tour the Murano glass factory. I watched a guy make a reared-up stallion. It was so hot in there. However, you are correct in stating it is pricy. I also visited Swarovski in Austria. Fun times.

That black panther is MCM and is usually worth $100-$200 with the glass top. There were several things that I noticed as you were walking around that I'd have probably bought. Your thrift stores are a LOT better than ours...

Alex when you flipped through the records i saw a Jerry Vale album. Our mom was of Italian descent as was Jerry Vale who was well known for singing many of his songs in Italian. My father was in the US Army stationed in West Germany in the 1950's where my sister and I were both born. On the flight back from Germany after his tour my mom tapped a friend of hers sitting next to her on the plane on the shoulder and said, " Look over there....that's Jerry Vale ". Her friend said " No, it isn't ". So my mom walked over to him and asked him if he was Jerry Vale. He responded " Why yes I am, would you like an autograph? ". My mom said " No thank you, I just wanted to prove to my girlfriend you were Jerry Vale " . Well it's not like he was Frank Sinatra, hehe.

Hope you make it back to the thrift store to get the black panther table base. That was cool.

Though it is literally one penny away, it still isn't 8 dollars. Just an alternative argument. For budgeting purposes I would always consider it 8 personally so I know my max amount at checkout

4:35 that panther indeed had a piece of glass on top as a coffee table once upon a time. My eldest sister had a similar black panther table back in the 90s.

I went to the Salvation Army looking for colonial type clothes for a school project, for my daughter, a jacket caught my eye, and my daughter said to just buy it, it was brand new and only $9.99 so I did went home looked up info and listed it on eBay, I sold it for a $1000!! My daughter said I told you it was cool!! lol lol lol

Wow, at $30 that leather motorcycle jacket was cheap, and by the look of it it seems to be good quality too - Here it would cost at least twice as much, if not three times as much. Great find. 👍

I learned from Crazy Lamp Lady that Murano glass always has a polished pontil which might help identify glassware
