Thrift Flip - Making the Cottagecore Cardigan of My Dreams🌿🍄
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Hi, I’m Bri!
I’m a mixed media artist typically slinging tiny clay creatures and decor. But for this video I wanted to take a break from clay and try my hand at a new medium - yarn.
This idea was sparked by the insanely talented NestFed on Instagram. She is a yarn queen and I am not worthy.
In this video I will be dyeing and embroidering a second hand sweater to give it new life and try to achieve my dream woodland cottage girl fantasy.
Thanks for watching!

UH 👏MAY 👏ZING!!!!! So happy I stumbled upon your kooky and delightful channel! You are so talented and so humble and I love your awkward introvert INTP humor!! Really great and everything you do is so very inspiring. Crazy, too, is the fact that I just ordered various shades of green RIT dye about ten minutes before clicking on this video 🍀🍀🍀

I have to watch this again:) found a sweater I want to use!!
I love it, it looks really cute and whimsical! And in my opinion, the fluffy yarn you chose compliments the texture of the cardigan perfectly!
This looks so cute! That little kaki strip at the top of the mushroom base was such a good call.

I love this video so much! I saw the exact same image on Pinterest (had no idea where it was from) and it's been living rent free in my brain for about a week and then, lo and behold, your video from like a year ago pops up in my feed! 🤩 I just went online and bought a similar second hand cardigan (although for the record most of my stuff is second hand because, y'know, fast fashion) and I'm planning to follow your non-tutorial tutorial - thank you so much!
Beautiful work!! Wow!! I hope this garment makes you feel good every time you see it and remember what great work, time, and love you put into it.
I think you did great! Super cute 😉

Your cardigan came out sooo well! I'm really impressed! You watched only ONE VIDEO, and you then produced this cool pattern on the cardigan sleeves? Wow! I'm so impressed! Well done sweetie! I love your videos, especially when you make creatures with Air Dry Clay. You are so talented and it looks like it comes naturally to you too. I am a recent subscriber and I just love your channel! God bless you and all those you love, now and always.

hola! Thank you so much, we can match ❤️
I have a cardigan that I haven’t worn in a while that I’m thinking about doing this project on. But from what I can see it is knit and the holes are quite small and it stretches a lot when stitches are pulled tight. Which could in theory be fixed with a felt backing but I don’t exactly know how to sew onto yarn like this. So I’m not sure how well it will fair out. and considering that you’ve already finished this project that maybe you could provide some insight with what you’ve learned
You did a beautiful job for a first time beginner congratulations, but personally l would extend just a couple of the vines up to the shoulder 😃❤
I love vintage embroidered cardigan and sweaters but they can be so pricy! Your work is stunning!

Thank you so much 🥹🍄
very nice work. Just a note: you say the sleeves are too long - that is because the sweater is too large for you - look at where the shoulders sit. When it was made it was probably not intended to be so baggy, though it does look great.
I will watch all your videos for more tayto content XD

Would you recommend to try this to a total beginner who never embroidered in their life ? I only know how to sew to repair holes (and it’s not really perfect)

Maybe try a practice piece on a fabric scrap first to get the hang of it (and see if you enjoy it!) The great thing about embroidery is if you mess up, you can cut the strings out and try again. Mine is certainly not perfect, but that gives it character lol
