Sounds like my love language!

Its such a bitter sweet joy watching you and your mom search for treasures, I lost my mom a few years ago and she and I loved thrifting and going to yard sales together. It's now my 8 year old daughter going with me and she loves the thrill of the hunt just as much 😀

How exciting!!!! 🥰 I grew up in Northern MI and absolutely LOVE MI AND Thrifting!!!! 😍 I was up there in 2022 and found the coolest second-hand books I was not expecting to find! Ironically, I found a “turkey” platter in a thrift store a few years ago that looks close (but different) to the one you found! I am going to check it out and see what country it came from. More than I can say, it was fabulous. I really love primitives and they seemed to have a ton! I love seeing the wonderful trips you take on.

Thanks for sharing showed my daughter and son Mike who recently told us they are pregnant first child so blessed because they need a kitchen Reno and the floors done in their home. My son always finding cool things people throw away he like rustic too.

I love watching you and your mom shop together. My Mimi and I used to before she passed away. Y’all have such a sweet relationship

at 31:32 there was a stove exactly the size of my grandmother's and she made many a scrumptious meal on it and homemade doughnuts which I would love to have even one today. Considering that I'm 79 years old. That is quite a memory...even the smell of them cooking is irresistible. Thanks for the memory

I just found your channel….what caught my eye was the Bay City thrifting……I watched some of your other videos and realized that I live in the same town you do and I’m an avid thrifter……the Salvation Army and Goodwill in this video is somewhere I go quite a bit as I have family that lives there…….I love to thrift and I am always amazed when I come across someone who doesn’t! They don’t know what they are missing!

Dear Elizabeth, What you have there at 3:47 is likely a 1950's print of a copy of a 19th century painting, depicting a wealthy but frugal protestant Dutch household scene. I'm quite curious what the gallery sticker on the back says. From left to right: It has Delftware tiles at the fireplace, which were common in Dutch homes of that period. A bookrest for the family Bible (often also containing the family genealogy) with a smart little cameo right above it. A colonial hardwood cupboard (possibly from the Dutch Indies) decorated with more Delftware. Leaded pane windows which are typical for Dutch homes of the period, with a top-latch shutter. I believe the print is based off an oil painting by David Adolph Constant Artz, a Dutch painter who lived from 1837 - 1890. But there are some small differences with the original. For one, the original does not have the clock on the far right. The fact that you were in Michigan might explain the find of a Dutch print. I was lead to believe that there is a great Dutch heritage in that state? The 15 USD pricetag would be fairly on point in my opinion. Greetings from the Netherlands, -Jachtmaester Curiosa

I have that exact turkey platter. My father bought it in 1955 for my Mother. I cherish mine and I’m sure you will also.

This is the first time I am seeing your channel! I absolutely love love love the way you go antique shopping and you really take your time zooming in and showing everyone what you’re looking at! You take time and show us the different merchandise in the shops and I think it is so nice to see someone scanning things slowly and taking their time so that we can see what you’re seeing! It makes me feel like I’m right there with you shopping! Keep up the good work I love your decor!

LOVE the art print of the women around the table! I always look through the big art pieces for the frames, nevermind what art is currently in the frame.

I bought a couple of those clear-bottomed steins second hand, back in the mid-seventies. You and your mom got some neat items. Having lost my mom when I was young, it's nice to watch Mother, daughter duos out shopping together. ( : Nor Cali Gal

I’ve been to Bay City a few times to check out their antique stores. I always leave bummed out as their pricing is so high. You & your mom are very kind when discussing pricing. ☺️

I went to this one last spring i think it was.. I live in northern michigan but i have family in this part of michigan and we went there on a whim. It was alright. If you haven't already, come up to Traverse City and visit all our thrift shops and the massive Wilsons Antiques(there are 4 levels!, and a second warehouse location really close by.)

30:54 - That's wild, I've never seen another boot/shoe rack thing like that in an actual antique store before, only a few on Etsy and places online. I have one from my parents and I love that thing. They used to hang candles off of it, the type where there is string connecting two, and they'd kind of drape them over the rungs. Overall too that's a great antique store, I see some cool salt glazed pottery items too!

Alot of nice things at those stores. I'm getting antsy to go to some. For now dive into the clearance areas. Thanks for taking us along.

Fun antiquing with you. I have been to the Bay City Antique Mall many times in the past as my sister use to live in Saginaw. Also the Saginaw Warehouse. Actually I made a trip to visit friends in Plymouth and Northville recently and on the way home I stopped at the Warehouse and scored something I liked. My big splurge. Also stopped in West Branch too. And got lucky there. There are a couple of Antique stores there. Probably more things to go too but I didn’t have time that day. I do pretty well in thrift stores and like the prices better.

I loved the measuring cups. I thought they were so unique and had no idea they ever made measuring cups so beautiful to be functional. You had the perfect place to display them.

There is The Hillsboro Antique Mall on Sample Rd just east of the turnpike at the indoor flea market and there’s an antique mall in Cooper City. Also google places in Wilton Manors which is right near Ft Lauderdale. 😊

You must get that framed print. It's called "The Sewing Hour" by Holland Artz 1908 Netherlands. It's beautiful!!!

Regarding the comments about how expensive the Antique Mall is; they are a Store, not a thrift shop. Most everything is very clean, well displayed, and the dates/history is well marked. They are completely different shopping experiences.

Many of these antiques were quite rare - so I think prices reflected that fairly.

@ 16:18 starting into quality, and your mom knows her pricing, when she tells you "that's good" (meaning price) remember, she remembers when she saw those before (talking in years now) at 3 to 4 times the price ( in the better stores)you are seeing them at this day

Awe how fun to see some things I've had or sold in my booth in this haul. I have the turkey platter and I had one of the measuring cups from your set. I also had a pie server very similar to yours in my booth. Great minds think alike, I guess 😁

I have one of those turkey platters ! Mine is Masons I've managed to find 3 plates in the Thom Turkey pattern to match It's so fun to go thrifting It's always serendipity to find something on your list !

Again that canister set with all the pieces was well worth $145.00. You might want to look at vintage ware books , furniture books , etc and learn more before going shopping. There's a wealth of info to help you in your future and future purchases. Consider.....just saying.....have a good day. Nice you have your mom to go with ❤️❤️❤️

What a great buy on the canister set and turkey platter. My kitchen and dining room is all vintage, they would both be displayed all year. lol I'd find a spot. I move things around in there almost every day. I love being in there. New Sub.

Wow what a lovely antique store! I could spend hours in there looking! You mom sure has a good eye on things also. Say…..what app or how does your mom look things up like she did at the thrift store? I always see people do that and I was just wondering in case I should try it when I thrift! I’m looking forward to more of your thrifting videos!

Don’t you need that table and Windsor chairs? Probably worth a lot more. Would look great painted.

I don't. The table isn't really the style I'm going for and I already have some Windsor chairs with a deeper stain on them I like much more :)

OMG....I have been in there. I had no idea you were in this area. I live in Bay City and there are amazing thrift stores and antique stores so close by. I bought that German marmalade jar at the antique store.
