I remember when I used to spend heavily on watches, trying to build up a collection. But then my RM 003-V1 Tourbillon Dual Time Zone was stolen from me in Paris in broad daylight. So, be careful out there, guys. I'm even considering selling the rest of my watches and just getting a Casio, lol.

very sorry for your loss, Great that will fetch you some cash. *I used to be a collector, but I liquidated my collection to venture into real estate. In January, I acquired homes in Malibu for $32million, and the returns on investment far exceed what I earned as a collector.

I have a financial advisor (trader) she grows my liquid assets and I reinvest the weekly payouts back into real estate and long-term ETFs like VOO and SCHD. I have also started acquiring some tech ETFs, including IITU and IUCM.

There are quite some high end watches that can be worn because not a lot of people recognize them. I mostly wear my Breguet Marine 5817 when I'm on vacation. Perfect watch and nobody is reacting on it.

That graphic of him "about to fly" cracked me up - pointless yet hysterical.

I just wear g shocks. Obviously not as refined as some of the watches mentioned in this video, but I wouldn’t want to be a target of any sort, even if I’m wearing a semi-affordable stainless steel watch.

I travel a lot for work, usually I wear a Seiko or a Citizen. The newish Seiko 5 GMT is a great travel watch, and it doesn’t attract attention at all.

Would avoid anything with a Pepsi or black ceramic bezel for obvious connotations that every thief has an eye out for. In SEA be wary around rent a cops and hotel desk managers/bellhops. Housekeeping staff tend not to be a risk despite their level of access because they tend to get disciplined collectively for guest room breaches, whereas front desk have more plausible deniability

For a safer and more authentic European vacation, avoid major cities like London and Paris. Instead, visit places like Warsaw in Poland or smaller cities in countries like Norway, such as Bergen.

If I’m wearing a Rolex, I wear it on the inside of my wrist now. I bought mine when they were cheap and current prices are horrifying. The industry has made us targets for theft.

@@HectorHughMunro I think thieves targeting watches know how to identify a rolex clasp… I’d say wear your watches the way you want, be aware of your surroundings and if traveling alone, leave your watches at home if your that concerned.

If something feels off, it likely is. Better to learn that lesson with the theft of a watch than loss of life.

Seiko or Moonswatch. That’s it, really.

Wear a sling bag over yourself and place your watches in it and take it with you if you need to visit the toilet
