    Hi Corey, i feel blessed to have discovered your channel. I've never seen such a variety of plants. Your teaching has had a huge impact on my gardening, and I appreciate it. Love your down to earth personality. You're great fun to watch. Sincerely thank you for all you do. Another thing is that many of our Madison Wisconsin garden centers have closed over the years. I miss the great variety of plants and quirky garden decor. Thanks again! ❤

    Thank you for your kind words. The box stores have made it tough for some of the greenhouses to compete. Fortunately, the ones that remain often are doing a good job of carrying interesting varieties. I visited Ebert's in Ixonia, WI, before Mother's Day -- that's an amazing place! If you haven't visited, it'll be worth the trip.

    Love that you did this for your sister! Also I love the shade pots. It is harder to find shade inspiration. Can you do a pot with a fern sometime? Thanks.

    Fun to see shade containers that are so full of color! I used to think shade plants were boring. Now they are some of my favorites, especially those that can straddle the off sort of sunny, sort of shady locations. 🍁 Love the shout out to Ontario. Grew up there (in Wisconsin now).

    Hi Corey! So glad i fund your channel! I am in Manitoba Canada, zone 3 but work at a local greenhouse! Nice to see a lot of the same annuals and I especially enjoy the Petunia vids as there are so many different kinds its hard to keep them all straight!! I am now passing on my newfound knowledge to my customers! Thanks again!

    What absolutely beautiful planters, and I am amazed at the begonias. I have a Nonstop white that I mail ordered, and it is so slow growing it's only about five inches tall and no blooms yet. A few of the I'Conia that I bought in bloom have died where the stems shrink down to nothing at the soil level or pot edge and then break off. I have some Glory begonias and some Begonia Beuvilia 'BEBE that are doing well and they take direct sun for a few hours. I think ya'll will really like the Gardenmeister Fuschia and though it's my first year with them (I also got three of the Firecracker Fuschia which has the beautiful variegated leaves), I am really impressed. So far though, the hummingbirds haven't looked at them- preferring the salvias. It's already low 90's here in Atlanta, so I am enjoying seeing how my garden of containers will grow. I haven't seen Solenia or Surefire begonias available here. You are a kind brother. Hope she liked them. Blessings.

    Someone suggested in Garden Gate to use a scale to weigh fish for hanging baskets. The heavier it is the wetter.

  • @UpNorthGardenMI

    @UpNorthGardenMI

    I guess that would be similar to my technique of lifting the pots. However, as the plant produces more foliage and blooms, it will be heavier. So you still need to adjust what is considered “wet” throughout the season.

    I think your sister will love these! I would recommend trimming the hypoestes to make them bushy. In my experience, once they flower they get leggy and less attractive, like a coleus. Can't wait to see how these do! She has great taste!

    I usually look for something with a more of a rounded habit like a geranium or tuberous begonia… a fern could be nice too. If you’re in an area like us where that can handle full sun, a grass would look nice. I’ve tried them with coleus and with Sunpatiens and didn’t love the look.
