Three Point Lighting | A Cinematography Must Know
Фильм және анимация
3 Point Lighting is a very important tool to know for the foundation of all cinematography. Being the first lighting technique I learned, it's something everyone should know.

This lighting setup is a great one to know for filmmakers! You did an incredible job explaining it! Amazing video as usual babe!❤️🔥
Great video, looking forward to when the "show and tell" thing starts!
thanks again, great reinforcement of these principles. I like the touch of the outside light on the plant

And thank you as well
One thing I've learned in the last couple years is that a smaller budget doesn't limit your option of shots as much as it changes how convenient it will be to get them. For instance, you can get a lower budget LED with a similar CRI to the Aputure 120d, and then you'll have to be more creative about the lower brightness when competing with sunlight, perhaps by employing ND gels which are pretty cheap. Or if you want a TV light effect but can't afford a SkyPanel type device, it means someone will have to be manually dimming it during the shot to create the same effect, but it can still be done. For anyone who sees Brady's videos and worries about budget, I strongly recommend his video about getting 8 film looks with a single light - it proves that getting beautiful shots is far more about developing an eye for what will look good than it is about the gear.

you're so nice for this! It's really fun challenging ourselves with limited lighting, cheers!
Great content, as usual. Simple, I see a new video from Professor Brady and I hit the like button. Thank you, my friend.
Killer 3 point video. Room tone is deff super important especially for interviews! Would love to see a breakdown of what I’m noticing and trying to do in my work. Aka back lighting everything that also gives wrap. Shooting into the key that what I’ve found is usually a 12x12 or for my budget an 8x8. Much more grip involved but would love to see how to do it solo and your take
You have no idea how much I have learned from your channel! You deserves hundred thousands of subcribers ☺️
Love your tutorials. 🌟🎥
This is so informative. Thanks man. I learn a lot 🔥

Great video Brady! Could you make a video explaining the inverse square law and how to apply it on video? Greetings from Panama🇵🇦
Very interesting. So when we use a power window in Resolve to change the lighting of our footage, the main part of the window is our Key light, the softened outer part acts as Fill, and the added Glow (node) from the top is the Rim light. Not that power windows are a substitute for set lighting. Any online resources you recommend for Lighting tutorials?

Just a tip: When you're cropping in the talking head, don't crop into the middle of the scene. It cuts off the top of your head and draws attention to the wrong part of the image.

You got it!
You have only to look closely at her with the lights set to see that he is wrong. Notice she still has a strong shadow from her face on the left side. The proper placement of the key light is CLOSE TO THE CAMERA and the fill light light on the other side at 45 degrees (not the key light at 45 degrees). You try lighting an famous actor his way and see how long you last as the D.P. 30+ years in 'Hollywood', I know what I am telling you. Amateurs. If you want to test how wrong he is. Do the set up as he says and then switch the key light close to the camera and the fill light at 45 degrees on the other side and see how clean and even the subject's face looks. (The side of her face that is closest to the camera is the DARKEST! Why would you do that?) What I just told you is how the pros do in the REAL film profession.

sorry!
Bro, your videos look too washed out, and yellow, the dudes of Epic Light Media did a better job, take it as a constructive criticism.
