Yep. The lock is the same, as far as the wrist grip. The difference is in pulling in, pressing forward, or pushing down. Each position sets up whatever the following technique will be.

That's a great demonstration of technique and interpretation. I'd like to know the source for the wooden dummy.

Great video! I'd also like to know where you got the dummy arm. Is it a life-size art mannequin?

I have a very important question,bc I have been doing karate and taekwondo for 10 years.why do so many karate practiners spend most of there time on kata,Kihon instead of strength training, cardio training, indurence training, speed and technique training?which I believe is far more important then learning solo kata and kihon first?don’t get me wrong I love kata and kihon and I believe it should be learned after the student knows the basics of fighting, because that’s how karate started, the basics of fighting came first then the kata and kihon,I think it’s much more effective and easier to condition the student and do technique training with tegumi and toutie techniques instead of teaching kata…first….bc in my opinion it waste a lot of time.regardless if it’s tradion or not, martial arts over time is suppose to evolve, because when times change people will change, there minds, and there actions will follow,it’s all about evolving our arts so it can fit in each generation, not staying to bad tradition, just my thoughts.what do you think about this sensi?I would really love to know your thoughts on this

Strive to maintain the best fitness level one can selfdence situations may not last a moment. Fights going 3, 3 or 5 min round have similar but different requirements and strategies.

@@fishbelly789 in order to be effective in self defense u have to know how to fight first..body rotation.aggressiveness, plus a self defense situation can easily turn into a fight if the move dosnt pull off.not everything is perfect.i wouldn’t say be completely fit but u need cardio, strength, and speed to pull the techniques off.fighting comes first then self defense,u cannot teach them at the same time.this is why when u look up karate fighters actually fighting against combat martial artist they get beat up.not bc karate dosnt work but because the training method is not good.if these things didn’t matter then good luck to the 400 pound fat guy trying to pull of a technique when someone grabs his shirt with 2 hands😂
