Drugs were a big thing in the 1980's. I remember baseball players being arrested/suspended, left and right, because of the stuff. It was always in the news. Cocaine especially. It was everywhere. You couldn't get away from it. It was literally the "Fentanyl" of the 20th Century, that stuff!

Three Men and a Baby was the highest grossing movie of 1987, the 3 leads were huge 80s stars. It is a remake of a french film Three Men and a Cradle. I remembered when it was filmed in my home town of Toronto. The City was excited Tom Selleck & Ted Danson were living in town for 3 months. Tom always wore a Blue Jays hat on Magnum P.I. so when he was in Toronto the Jays had Tom come play with them for the day. Tom was knocking the balls into the stands. Spock himself Leonard Nimoy directed Three Men. There is a sequel "Three men and a Little Lady"(1990). I liked it.

Such a great comedy. The 3 main leads had great chemistry and totally believable reactions to having a baby thrown into their lives. I'll never forget when my daughter was born and the when we first brought her home. It was literally putting her down in her crib and looking at each other saying, "Well? Now what?"

Cute ‘update’ story - a few years ago, Diane Keaton wrote an autobiography (??) and was on a book tour. At one stop, 2 women talked to her and brought up Baby Boom. Those women were the twins that played the toddler in Baby Boom. Mini reunion in the middle of a book tour.

This movie was directed by Spock. There was an urban legend that this movie had a ghost caught on film. You can see a small figure looking into the house from a window. As someone who got thrust into being a single-parent, let me give you some old lady knowledge: Remember that advice is just a fancy word for opinons, and you dont have to take it. This is going to be learning experience and everything you do is going to seem wrong, but it wont be to the baby. Listen to your gut, your instinct, and you wont go wrong. This is not a race for First Place; sleep when you need to sleep; eat when you need to eat. You CAN sleep with your baby without fear. Cuddle, hold, snuggle as much as your heart desires because you cannot spoil a baby with too much love. You do what's best for YOU and BABY, not what's best for someone else. YOU are your baby's PARENT. Many blessings to the three of you! ❤

This was a remake of a 1985 French Film Three Men and a Cradle (Trois hommes et un couffin) which was hysterical and had none of the ridiculous nonsense of the heroine. The only speed-bump for Dansen was his CSI role, and he was fine. I just expected a different Sam Malone or growling Becker... my expectations were too diff. GOOD PLACE blew all of that out of the water because, well, it was such a WEIRD tale and setup, and always had unexpected's along the way. For me, that was like a palate-cleanser for MY version of Dansen's career. I grew to expect nothing! Sadly, I haven't warmed to Tom without being Thomas Magnum. His films are pretty good, although his small town drunk-ex-cop wore on me - that TV film series (JESSE STONE). But his MY ALIBI and KILLERS (Heigl and Ashton) are top notch. His HIGH ROAD TO CHINA, MR BASEBALL, etc. all fun. Guttenberg...well...

Also, I will throw in Nancy Travis who has had a great career. Great movie and the 2nd movie is also worth a watch.

The actress playing Ted Danson’s mom, Celeste Holm, is worth further watching! Holm won an Academy Award for her performance in Elia Kazan's Gentleman's Agreement (1947), and was nominated for her roles in Come to the Stable (1949) and All About Eve (1950). She also is known for her performances in The Snake Pit (1948), A Letter to Three Wives (1949), and High Society (1956). She is also known for originating the role of Ado Annie in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Oklahoma! (1943).
