    Actually, the band explains the meaning behind this song on their website. Basically, it's about how you hate something, but at the same time you keep coming back to it, and letting it take over you, whether it's drugs, or a relationship, or whatever.

    @@LanceThompsonKssooner You know bands like My Chemical Romance, Three days Grace, Bullet for my valentine, 30 Seconds to Mars and AFI that sang songs about self harm, depression and like you said anger and rage. That along with their gothic dress style. The other term for it is "scene". Those were the days and some of these bands I still listen since I was a teen.

    This song is very relatable for me after being in recovery for the last 15 years sober. I often ask myself how could I love something that caused me so much pain.

  • @patmullen7597

    @patmullen7597

    2 жыл бұрын

    I'm just happy you've been sober for 15 years., You don't hate it at first because it makes you feel great and recovering afterwards is hardly noticeable. It's only after you've continued doing it for years does it have its hooks in you. Every time after the first brings less temporary pleasure and worse, longer lasting pain. It's nothing to feel guilty or ashamed of. It's not called an addiction for nothing. I would imagine the problem is only getting worse these days. For a large number of people, it's an escape from a shitty life within a shitty world full of shitty people. The only way to fix the problem is not to attack the drugs, dealers or the addicted themselves but to correct the world we live in so less people feel the need to turn to drugs in order to escape from it. Congratulations again.

    Time of Dying is my favorite by them. Always wanted the option to choose your own music when people watch your kill cam in videogames and this was what I wanted for mine. Edit: Imagine playing a shooter video game. You just died, and the game switches to another perspective to show how you died. Then a song with these lyrics comes on… “I will not die I'll wait here for you. I feel alive when you're beside me. I will not die I'll wait here for you. In my time of dying.”

    Its legendary band. One of the best rock metal band for who haven't listened to this genres of music to start with. Their songs have the perfect balance between melody and power. Anyone knows about them. And there were two different singers. First was from start (2003) to 2012 (4 albums) and after he left the group. With him band make the best albums. First two are perfect. He has very recognizable hoarse voice. Now he has own band Saint Asonia where he writes non-comercial music that he didn't like. After that TDG take another singer and make with him 2 albums (2014-now), first is very cool. Another great songs from them: Home, Riot, Pain, Never Too Late, Break, Its All Over, On My Own, Gone Forever... A lot of great songs. (Sorry for my eng)

    drugs. loves the buzz but hates what he became. most of his songs are about his addiction to pain killers. he hates everything about drugs but loves them too much to be able to stop. he is clean now though.

    I got to see these guys live in 2019. They opened for Disturbed. I enjoyed their performance so much more than Disturbed's.

    I found this so relatable while I was going through a divorce in the 2000’s but listening now maybe he’s singing about a drug addiction.

    The official video actually depicts some of the meaning of the song. One is a boy that likes a girl and they may have been together but she left him to play around...he hates her but still loves her. Another is a son that gets verbally and physically abused by his alcoholic father ...they hate eachother but love eachother. And a girl likes the school jock, he noticed and took advantage of her and probably slept with her then just walked off...she feels used but still likes him.
