That may have been the best threaded welding repair I've seen yet. Great idea to create an entire assembly to weld to the broken fitting. Does the job and is significantly less expensive than a new motor or block.

Just FYI, in case you're not aware, your local home store like home crepot has internal pipe wrenches. They work great for broken pipes in hydraulic systems and such. I would try it with the cooling system, but I think the heat and cool to shrink it is probably necessary. Nice job!
