Thousands Protest As Georgian "Foreign Agents" Bill Reappears In Parliament
Thousands of Georgians protested in Tbilisi on April 15 after lawmakers reintroduced a bill requiring foreign-funded organizations to register with the government. The ruling party previously backed the controversial "foreign agents" bill in 2023, then withdrew it.

There's literally nothing wrong with this version of a law - if more than 20% of your funding comes from UK, you just need to state the fact. Russian version literally cripples foreign media, this and US one does nothing other than saying where this or that opinion comes from. When will the US do the same? There’s absolutely nothing controversial about NGOs being required to report their activities to the local government. @@reaperbsc This is untrue. The bill applies to any entity, or subsidiary thereof, and any non-USA domiciled individual.
We are with the people of Georgia not this tiny minority financed by Eu. Stay strong Georgia 🇵🇰🇷🇺🇬🇪

I don't think so. This is the second time a protest on this bill has taken place. Also there have been many examples of people joining spontaneously and protesting Russian tourists on cruise ships. Russian propaganda wants everyone to believe that people are sheep and can be controlled by governments. Maybe it is because of how limited information is in Russia and how some seem so apathetic and clueless.

This make sense if government tries to push the bill which protects the government, because now only two options are available: you are paid by (work for) government, or you report to (work for) government.

@@VolodymyrLisivka This is not true, but according to your logic, it is shameful to work for the government while the other side works for another country.

Thank god they have no Bandera to form some sort of ugly nationalism around. Stalin wouldn`t exactly fit into that.🤣
Bro but we have the same law in US right😂

Similar only in surface. In practice the law is very different in the US. In Ruzzia and its vassal states, this law is used as a matter of discrimination and a ploy to compel speech and imprison or kill opponents.
Georgia can be a free and independent nation without being in the EU...all truly sovereign and independent countries r outside the EU and Nato...
