Dynasties (2018)
Every animal is on an extraordinary journey through life with one goal: To produce the next generation. This is life's great story. They set out to build a group, a family, a troop, one that will rule and in turn provide for their offspring not just survival but dominance of the land. We meet them at a pivotal stage in their lives and follow their fate as they strive to fulfil their biological destiny. It may be from the moment they are born, from the moment they are forced out of their family or from the moment they make a play to become a leader. But all will create a dynasty.
Welcome to BBC EARTH! The world is an amazing place full of stories, beauty and natural wonder. Here you'll find 50 years worth of entertaining and thought-provoking natural history content. Dramatic, rare, and exclusive, nature doesn't get more exciting than this.

The bond between the parents is amazing. Such an amount of natural trust and amazing teamwork.
I always love how baby penguins always bob their heads when they chirp. So cute 😍💞💞
The babies are cute. I know death is a part of life but seeing that poor poppa penguin with his dead baby made me sad.

They have a high mortality rate. Either they freeze or starve to death when one parent doesn't return from feeding.

Elephant mothers are especially sensitive/close as well, but no couples there (just mum & some aunties in an exclusive herd). Penguins work & thrive @ “bringin up baby” as a couple & THAT is unmatched (outside of good, supportive humans)! Don’t ya’ just marvel @ nature, sometimes?! Very affecting, life affirming, stuff! 👍🤟🐧
I love.how they cuddle and protect their young
Aw, the little cracks before the chirping kicking in always gets me.
One of my favorite animals. This species especially is so adorable.
I mean let's take a moment to be amazed how they find each other. Truly living on life's edge garners appreciation for healthy relationships & skills like dedication to family.
This is one of the most fascinating animals in this world. The most intense beginnings for the little ones. So so cold. Sadly this is a penguins life. All that world transferring eggs. Keeping chick warm. And yet it freezes. Sadness for parents. Penguins really work tough at one egg one chick. Awesome penguins 🐧 💞

No, the colony generations exists there for years. The iceberg is just more strong and stable than near the sea
@krankarvolund7771
2 жыл бұрын
@@jason38 Unfortunately, not stron enough, there have been cases of whol colonies sinking in the sea due to the rupture of the ice floe (an iceberg is a big mount of ice, lost in sea), due to global warming. All the adults survive, but it usually kills all the chicks that are not waterproof yet, can't swim, and even if they suceed to stay out of water, being wet in Antarctic is basically a death sentence ^^'
@oneeyedman99

Once they get to the water fish are easy to get, but the water's far away. Emperors breed in the winter, with dozens of miles of ice between them and the water. Over the course of the spring the ice melts, so little by little the water gets closer.
3:49 that female penguin is taller then her male partner. No discrimination based on gender or love. Much better then this cruel human world at this moment.
