Very easy to judge isn't it? Somehow this seems like a pretty simple topic for people who don't know a single thing about navigating a life with real safety, economic and health hardships since you were born. Would you stop being proud of being American if one day your country became just as violent, poverty stricken and troubled as the neighbors down south and you were forced to leave to have a future, possibly under numerous very real life and death situations? It's not rocket science, just a bit of empathy.

Completely unfair what is happening. I am a US citizen living in Colombia. My wife who I married in Colombia, I am currently petitioning for her green card to enter the USA Legally. How long is the backlog for the wait on the processing time of our petition? 11.5 months on average. Almost 1 freakin year!!! Why??? The USA is not allocating resources to those who want to migrate LEGALLY and instead they put resources at the border to let ILLEGAL immigration and processing happen. It’s so messed up. And it really hits home with us and has a huge impact on those who want to come to the United States in the lawful form. Laws mean nothing anymore, US immigration is all backwards.

Crap, do you honestly believe the Democrats have changed the system to allow people in? I used to be an immigration attorney. Over 90% of these people who try to get in won't. That is an understated fact. And yet there are jobs that Americans will not do such as working in fields (agriculture) or some factories (meat processing). Without some immigrants, you can expect your food prices to go sky high. And yet no one does a study to find out exactly how immigrants are needed to fill those jobs. It's all a guess. And a few will slip through the cracks in system, but the situation really isn't as bleak as they paint it for Americans. It is, however, extremely bleak for those "immigrants" on the road hoping that they will get in. They won't. And also remember, once you've been rejected and you try to cross again and get caught, in the US that is mandatory prison and then you get kicked out and sent back to your country of origin. Most of these people don't know that. I really wish the media would report the facts about immigration instead of using scare tactics like this. Again, the huge majority of these people are never getting into the US.

Never forget 100 years ago and more people moved to the USA legally from all sorts of poor countries, to lead the American dream. They had aspirations for their children, many yet to be born, for me they are our priority. This is how America became America for near 250 years. That input should not be superceded by illegal entry. We have failed to make clear, from the President on down, we are built on a legal system. I planned the Bin Laden Raid, becoming a USA Citizen from the UK. I learned the value of the USA by following it's laws and customs. 911 should have taught US to be firm but compassionate over citizenship.

This has to be one of the dumbest things ever stated on the internet. Sorry Daniel. Daniel, at what point does the US cross the line, a country that is the richest in the world where over 50% of that wealth is concentrated in 1% of the population and those people pay almost no taxes to a system that made them ultra-wealthy. The US has vast resources and the ability to "take care of our own people," but Americans choose not to do that. No need to worry, though. This story has no depth. I'm a former immigration attorney and I can tell you that over 90% of these people will never step foot into the US. If they enter illegally and are caught they are forever barred from entering again regardless of their circumstances afterward. This is a lot of hype with no substance behind it. But hey, good on you for falling for it. (What a sucker!!!!)

They're being sent throughout the US. In my county we had 22,000 applicants. That's just in one county, in one (small) state. I can't even imagine how many the bigger states are receiving. My heart is with them. I've gotten to know many. At the same time, it's not sustainable to keep taking in that amount of people. Housing, food stamps, medical care ... just putting each child that comes through the border into the public school system alone costs $20,000 per child. A few hundred thousand migrant children arrived in the last 2 years alone. In addition to over 5 million that were already here. Medical care for migrants costs roughly $40 billion a year. Of course as human beings they are more valuable than money. My point though is, how is this sustainable?

The ease at which anyone can procure and smuggle American guns and the United States' hunger for illicit drugs is the whole reason why so many Latin American countries are in such a sorry state of violence with the cartels running everything. This is the root of the problem and no rinky dinky border wall (a Cult45 grift and scam if there ever was!) is going to stop it or solve the crisis. And you want to give them even more guns? Really? Talk about throwing more fuel on the fire! No, part of the solution is enacting more sensible gun regulation in America and to legalize certain drugs and regulate them and tax them as you would any other substance like cigarettes or alcohol, thereby stripping much of the power away from the drug cartels. Legalize prostitution too while we're at it, thereby reducing human trafficking too. Between having no job or future prospects of a prosperous future, many of these migrants would rather take the chance to find more opportunity at a better life in America, and who can really blame them when they fear for their own saftey and that of their children? Americans helped cause this problem and we have to work with our Latin American partners to fix it.

Their sense of entitlement is quiet incredible. The people who organized this need to be thrown in federal prison. The stock market rose from 10,000 points to 35,000 points in 12 years. There's also too much credit floating around that most people won't be able to pay back. The high gas prices are from high oil prices due to speculative buying just like during the Bush administration. Turn them back. We got enough problems. I feel for them, and that isn't lip service. But we just can't do it anymore. If you are tired of waiting then you can head out to somewhere else. You don't demand entry and expect open arms. We got enough on our plates. People that follow the law and do it correctly don't deserve to be passed up by others. It isn't fair or just to reward such behavior.

Somebody somewhere unfortunately doesnt care, wants a better life and safer one in any way they can get it. In fact there are many in this world who think the opposite, and that our carrying capacity is much better than some degenerated states in the south. Its something or nothing for these people and i dont know if you fully understand this.

Exactly how would they add to our problems? Crime? We seem to be doing a great job killing ourselves. Maybe you think they’ll take all of our jobs, despite there being more job openings than there are Americans? I’m super curious what problems you think will happen

@@epiccthulu How about applying legally and waiting your turn. There aren't enough teachers as it is for schools. Hospitals currently have shortages of trained staff. It isn't irrational fear. It's about doing things correctly so we aren't encouraging more of the same. Tired of the nonsense about open borders. We have a immigration system created to handle the flow of migration in a manageable fashion. Stop flooding the system 😡. Wait your turn or go elsewhere. Why is that a problem? This isn't a free for all. Border patrol has other duties as well. They aren't there just to apprehend impatient migrants. Immigration is what makes us who we are. We are a beautiful country of mixed cultures. But the resources are limited. Doing things in decency and order is not only practical it is also the law. If you love America then respect all aspects of what it is. Do you think we can accept everyone that wants to come? It is impossible. So who do we say yes to and who do we say no to? Just because you come and sit at the edge of someone's lawn doesn't give you the right to come into their 🏠. Even if it's because they have a better living condition than what you are experiencing.

15,000 that = more inflation for us citizens. 🇺🇸 because we're picking up the tab of illegal immigration. Yup they can immigrate to brazil, or another Latin American country. America doesn't have all the answers.... just a ton of impending financial stress.
