The earliest records primarily depict Thoth's name with the well-known god symbol: an ibis perched on a standard. This iconography is not merely decorative but deeply symbolic, reflecting Thoth's association with wisdom and knowledge. The ibis, a bird known for its meticulousness in picking its food from the mud, symbolizes discernment and precision, qualities attributed to Thoth as the scribe of the gods.
The full written form of Thoth's name is rare in the oldest texts. Instead, the ibis symbol alone often abbreviates or represents Thoth's name. The Old Kingdom displays Thoth's name in a transliteration-friendly script called Djehuty, which is frequently in full hieroglyphic form. This form persists in the funerary texts of the Middle Kingdom and is particularly prevalent in the inscriptions of the nomarchs of El-Bersheh.

@@FulllengthAudioBooks the reason I say Ascended Master is purportedly found in several places. By himself, others understanding he had been mortal albeit partially or otherwise. This could be accurate as he plays such significance & many roles in the Earth plane. His ability to live long life, incarnate in what plane of choice and Will Life from one embodiment to another. Thus perhaps an Avatar? The Gods left one after another seems not have they returned. If we look at the span of time covering Taft, Tahjuty Thoth Hermes & Trismagistus just to name a few, we see him returning time again. According to some writings, he was the Great Initiator for the Initiate Adepts during Egyptian Mystery Schools Initiatory teachings. The Book, "Conversations in the House of Life" is newer. The translations is from papyri fragments -- Demotic Coptic & Hieratic. Ok thank you for taking on his great many roles, I've learned here. "Gilgamesh is the Superman of the ancient world". Isn't Gilgamesh 5,000 years older than Superman? Yes. But the metaphor still stands. In the case of Thoth and Hermes however, Greeks often considered them to be different names for the same eternal gods. So it isn't so bizarre to read that Thoth is the Egyptian Hermes or that Osiris is the Egyptian Dionysus according to Herodotus for example.
