Having lived in Scotland and worked in Sweden during the whole 'pandemic', it is evidentially true that the response in the UK and Scotland was utterly incompetent and hysterical. While the UK was under 24 hour lockdown, I was going to pubs, restaurants and cinemas in Sweden. This virus affected a tiny percentage of the population. It was no risk to the vast majority. We should never have been locked down, schools should never have closed, the country should have carried on as normal just as Sweden did. Everything we went through was done by politicians hell-bent on political maneuvering and self-interest. Remember that the next time these tyrants try to lock you in your own homes.

And why is WA able to give out a lot of clear text messaging data etc on warrants, "if the messaging is fully encrypted between the endpoints"? . Really, WA is NOT encrypted between the endpoints. It is encrypted between one user and WA servers, and then opened. Again, encrypted by WA-servers to the receiver. WA is also closed source, so I do not trust WA with anything they claim/sai. I do recommend Signal Messenger. It is open source, and they do not have central servers to catch your data. And yes, Signal can not give your messaging out to law enforcement, even when they are often asked and forced to do so. They can not, as they do not have it.

Salmond is spot on. Not many people delete messages unless there is something that could get them into bother !!! I work in finance and there are rules around keeping information. If I just decided not to record things or delete emails etc… I’d be very lucky to keep my job. Here we have public servants openly admitting to flouting the rules AND lying about it with pretty much zero consequences. The whole thing stinks but this is the SNP after all.

Then you also know you cannot keep "data" which contains personal information that is regarded as "data". There is a difference. Deleting evidence for shady purposes is obvious. Its a plain cover up. But it depends if they contain data which contains others names, addresses and telephone numbers.

Given what most of us already knew that she was a liar,and given that it has now been proved,should her evidence in the Salmond enquiry be forensically examined,or even reopened,and what does that say about the Irish barrister James Hamiltons enquiry that too should be looked into,and before anyone asks,i cant stand Alex Salmond.

The Scottish government said that the Westminster Tories have cut their budget in real terms because of inflation, increased costs and higher wages. English councils including Tory ones have said that their budgets have been cut because of inflation and wage increases which have not been met by the Westminster Tories. The UK people have suffered from Tory austerity since 2010 causing a rise in homelessness, destitution and a massive rise in the number of food banks with people frightened of heating or eating. Remember the then Tory prime minister David Cameron's slogan we are all in it together what a joke. The Joke is on the UK people as the rich ( including Tory MPs) get richer and the poor get poorer. By the way England is in deficit. You say rich politicians you just have to look at the ex Tory Chancellor of the Exchequer and Tory party chairman Nadhim Zahawi who was appointed by serial liar Boris Johnson. Tory Nadhim Zahawi had to pay the Inland revenue nearly £5 million tax including a £1 million penalty for tax avoidance. Or look at Tory lord Michael Mone with the Tory VIP PPE contracts gaining her £29 million in a trust fund for PPE that the NHS couldn't use because of its poor standard.

@@94graff I already said the SNP will loose the next Holyrood elections. Independence is not happening soon. I was speculating on what would happen if it did. I said the SNP would disappear from politics not all the individual politicos currently in the SNP. Some, maybe most, would leave to form a centre left Social Democratic Style party with folk from SLAB. Others would move to a Centre Right Party. Some Scottish Tories would join this , other Scottish Tories might stay in a Pro Union Party who voted with the centre right. The Lib Dems would just be what they are maybe also attracting some former Scottish Tories. And some SNP current Big Wigs would indeed leave politics for a prosperous retirement. Would Scotland be better governed that would be for future Scottish voters to decide. One thing is for sure it would be more accountably ruled since it's voters could change the make up of a fully sovereign parliament. Without worrying about it being at odds with a Westminster parliament totally indifferent to Scottish voters.

Sturgeon's constant tv appearances during the pandemic were for her just doing what she has always done to be seen and heard! With regard to the discharge of elderly people from hospital to care homes etc. at Sturgeon's behest either untested for covid-19 or having tested positive , it has been said on a number of occasions that elderly people in the snp's mindset were more inclined to vote to stay in the union, so were they being deliberately killed off and replaced with all the immigrants they want brought in who might be more inclined to vote for the snp's view of independence - a Scotland with no Scots in it ? Perhaps, that's one of the reasons for all the deletions of messages.

Given what’s been uncovered as to what went on during the pandemic amongst them all, with the few WhatsApp msgs they got. One can only imagine the amount of lies and incompetence that would have surfaced if all those deleted msgs were made available to the enquiry. A bunch of chancers, with the Health Secretary (now FM ) admitting he was ‘winging it’ - and still is.

The testing kits they sent my daughter and her partner never worked on both occasions. My daughter got covid which ended in pneumonia then Pleurisy Pneumonia two winters past then again this spring. Sadly she was months pregnant this spring and caught gestational diabeties as she was so run down. I thought she'd die struggling through this at her end of term as she atruggled so much and I'd loose my daughter and her baby. I think that was the plan.
