I did not notice any signage or signals outside the station...so kudos to the Mercedes driver for allowing the room for that TL to navigate out of the station.

There's not a lot that can be done. It's just a poor design from a time period when nobody envisioned apparatus this large.

Looks like they're in need for either a larger apron or a whole new station... Almost ridiculous that they have to make a 3 point turn just to get out onto the road...

@@CymruEmergencyResponder new rigs would cost a fortune to replace... especially for a Volunteer Department that most likely relies on donations for a majority of their funding (as is common for almost every VFD within the country) Plus, most Ladder Trucks with 80-110 foot ladders (and Heavy Rescues for that matter) don't usually come much smaller (especially newer models)

@@CymruEmergencyResponder shipping costs alone would be astronomical... unfortunately this station was more than likely built during a time where they probably didn't anticipate apparatus becoming larger (which in itself has become an issue across the country with both Volunteer and Career departments)... the best course of action in my opinion for this particular case would be to look into developing a new site for a whole new station... but, by the looks of it, there aren't too many open areas within this small town...

If they're making a right out of the station, then yes, the rescue and tower ladder have to back up. The engine is able to make the turn. They run around 250-300 calls per year, which isn't that busy, but I'm sure it gets annoying to have to do that every time they leave the firehouse, whether its for a call or not.

I’m sure a tiller might be easier to get out, but being I think this is volunteer and needing 2 drivers, a tiller may not be feasible. If the tiller man can’t respond then you have no ladder. I have never liked the look of tower ladders. The bucket on the back just makes it look funny. Put the bucket over the cab, they seem much more maneuverable than these.
