Richard passed away recently my ❤ is broken met him after a Play in NYC some yrs ago such a nice man he autographed so many of our playboloks after the play RIP Richard Chamberlain 💔RIP 😢 😢

I loved The Thorn Birds. The 1980s were a great era for TV mini series.

THE THORN BIRDS WAS THE BEST MINI SERIES EVER. A FORBIDDEN LOVE, WHICH COULD NOT BE DENIED, AND DISTANCE MADE NO DIFFERENCE. FATHER RALPH CAME TO THIS REALIZATION ON MATLOCK ISLAND, ALONGSIDE HIS BELOVED MEGGIE!!!

I can't blame Meggie for being madly in love with Ralph. Every normal woman would dream of his hands all over her. He's so beautiful and gentle that it hurts. Rachel Ward is awesome in reflecting her suffering and passion throughout the movie.

All the actors, actresses, director, producers and crew members deserve an Oscar each for their outstanding and unmatchable performances. I watched this movie when I was 18 for over 7 straight hours through the night, when everyone (my mom and siblings) had gone to bed. It was a recorded VHS copy I borrowed from the video club in the small town Zaria, Nigeria, where I had grown up. Afterwards, everyone in my family knew I was one of the greatest fans of The Thorn Birds, as I never tired of telling them about Father Ralph and Maggi’s decades long love story. O how brokenhearted for Maggi I was (and still is) when Father Ralph died, but comforted that he died in her arms. 32 years later, am 50 years old, and I can still recite all the words to a lot of the scenes, especially those between Maggi and Father Ralph. I dare say that this is about my all time favourite movie 👑☀️🙌🙌🙌

I had the pleasure of meeting Richard after his performance in a play in Massachusetts. He was very personable and down to earth. Who cares about his sexuality-as long as he is happy!

Rachel Ward is a superb actress in this series.
It's great Meggie told off both Father Ralph and Luke. They both deserved it. In some ways they WERE the same. A person can only take so much. Great movie! Just bought the DVD. I'm Catholic, but I realize that no matter what church you come from, selfish Ambition just to gain power within a church is hypocritical in the highest. Reminds me of the Pharisees. God pulled Ralph down a few pegs because he needed it. Later he realized his mistake, and he deeply regretted it.

👆YES! Always in the background affecting everyone in this story to some degree (Catholic or not) + Certainly up-close and personal for Maggie & Ralph (Mary too). The Church was inescapable. And viscously greedy. Being ambitious in the church is like being a bird in The Thorn Tree. You’ll impale yourself on the longest, sharpest spine trying to satisfy it’s impossible demands. Celibacy Law? Too Cruel.
Oh wow... This scene is powerful. ..." . " "Living Without You "by Nielsen was a very happy surprise. I loved that song back in 1973 so very very much. 💖💖💖💖💖

Great series, he was gorgeous. I think tho that he loved himself more then God or her. He was very ambitious. Maybevhe shouldvhavevb3come aprotestant so he could marry her and still be a priest.
But she has Dane who is Father Ralphs. Such a good movie.
I named my daughter Rachel because she was so beautiful. So is my daughter
