AMERICA IS WHIIITE DoubleLift's crazed, Link is a bitch, nobody's coachable or cares enough to fix anything. CLG in a nutshell. If you read all of Link's message and think "y'know you're right, you did nothing wrong" then you're closed minded as fuck, like he is. Nobody on CLG seems to want any responsibility for what happens in CLG. These are things I gleamed from Link's message, echoed in Thooorin's video, to some extent. My opinion was agreed with, and therefore I like the video. Fuck you and your themed account. Kid thinks Thooorin's word could save the Western scene, lmfao.

John Martin I think thorin prefer players who are open and blunt rather players who point blame at everyone except himself. There's a certain level of respect i can give doublelift because he owns up to his faults but isn't afraid to speak his mind. Unlike the passive aggressive Link who blames everyone for his mishaps and what he didn't get etc.

A summoning insight about an upset MSI and over an hour of Thorin's thoughts on a controversial topic where Thorin goes off. This is a good day I personally thought Link was low level talent holding CLG back and probably setting them back on a team growth level

***** I'd argue that calling Link 'Low Level Talent' is unfair, both to Link and to his detractors, ironically enough. Link was not a 'low level' mid laner. On a pure talent level when it comes to the NA scene, Link inhabited the nebulous area below Bjergson, but above the 'average/mediocre' mid laners such as Slooshi or (as loathe as I am to say it, since I am primarily a C9 fan) Hai. In fact, I'd argue he's probably the only one who could be accepted as being as such for the entirety of the split, considering how up and down the mid laners in NA were this split. Link's actual problems are that he seems to crumble under pressure and, until this season at least, a general lack of identity. Link's problems in play-offs have been well documented, so I won't go too far into them. Until this split, I had trouble describing Link as a player. He was pretty good on Nid and...? I honestly couldn't tell you what his style was. During the latest season, he managed to demonstrate he's at his best on poke/kite mid laners. Unfortunately for him, they fell out of meta pretty hard and CLG suffered for it. Saying Link's bad implies he shouldn't have been expected to be anything more than he was. Link was worse than just being 'bad'; there's been plenty of 'bad' players in the past, even on good teams. Link was disappointing. Continuously. Link hyped as being good and he demonstrated he could be good during the regular split. And then proceeded to fall on his face when it counted. And worse than that, he kept doing it; rather than someone like Kerp who demonstrated his effectiveness as a midlaner was always going to be suspect, or getting over his problems with time and experience, Link continued to lead the community on by have streaks of good play, only for it to all fall apart in the end. Just like the organisation as a whole, really. DoubleLift might be the face of CLG, but Link was the personification of it.

***** I basically play two games, League and Pokemon. I'm surprised to see a well known community member of one of those games cross over into the other, I just don't feel like the games are THAT related. Small world I guess. I don't watch your videos personally, but I do get a good laugh from Pyrotoz's channel when he mocks your ridiculously off-meta, full-of-hax sets that quite often don't work. Anyway, keep doing you, at least you're trying to innovate! And if nothing else, it provides viewers on Tommy's channel/stream with entertaining discussion and jokes.

***** Not only low level talent, but a lousy kid who can't admit he can't compete at LoL's highest competition. On the flip side of the coin, I respect Steeelback. He obviously isn't the best adc in the world, but he thanks Fnatic for giving him the opportunity to learn and meet new people.

I swear if you take a shot everytime he refers to himself as a god you sure as hell will pass out pretty soon. But the part where I completely lost it is where he talks abou S2 worlds and he says something along the lines of if the CLG botlane (Him and LiftLift) replaced CLG.EU botlane (Krepo and Yellowpete) they would have wonthe whole tournament. I mean like come on, that is some next level bullshit.

Not sure if you will read this but I just wanted to give you my opinion of this piece. I think the first half of this video was excellent! Things were on point and it felt like I was receiving a very different and warranted perspective of "Link's farewell" (compared to the other viewpoints we've received thus far). The part that undid me was how the 2nd half divulged into a sort of critical analysis of Link as a person. A harsher (compared to the first half) take of your opinion of his actions as a person and what he should have done. The way the video started I assumed that this video was going to be a analysis of the farewell note and breakdown point by point of "the leadership, coaching, how he felt every single split went for them in LCS, the issues he felt they had and.. to some degree addressing his own part within it" The key point of that quote was "to some degree addressing his own part within it". Almost the entire second half was directed towards analyzing Link's actions and mental state as a person. Although I completely understand that the source material itself definitely didn't lend to your cause. Most of what could be gleamed from it was in fact a direct line into Link's mind as an individual. Something I feel you felt more interested in then I, and that is just a difference of opinion. That being said, the video ended with what I (and yourself) feel is the most important thing to take away from this entire experience. "Where was Hotshot, where was Kelby in any of this shit for five splits." It was this exact thought around halfway that I think you should have ended on or expanded upon. I personally found this and other points you brought up to be much more enticing than your insight into Link's personality.

Pong670 I will argue against that tremendously. TSM is well known in LoL, but the CLG brand is known across eSports to a much larger degree. TSM is known as a LoL team with the rest of their eSports teams being average or slightly higher, where CLG is known as an eSports organization. Regi grew TSM in LoL, HSGG aimed for the whole eSports scene, and he's hit it so hard.

Thorin, there are times where I disagree with you and times I agree with you (although it seems as time goes on I tend to agree with you more and more). This is definitely one of those times where I agree with you. Actually to be honest, I don't think anyone could have put this better. Kudos, well said on everything.

"Guys we need to take baron. Huhuhuhuhuhu-" Trick's laugh continues to degress, sound more and more awful at the fabric of his teammates souls. After mere moments the laugh has turned into a full fledged goose quack, froth and spittle fly from Trick's mouth as he torments the minds of those he once called friends. The screams coming through his headset cannot not drown out the awful, unholy sound of Trick2g's laugh. And as all seems lost, a faint hope comes with sound of flapping wings. Mid-game, a large male canadian goose crashes on stage, mistaking Trick2g's honking laughter as a mating call. Before anyone can react the goose begins to sodomize Trick2g, mistaking him for a female goose and cutting off the horrendous noises he was making. The crowd falls silent, the only noise in the auditorium being the flapping and thrusting of the goose as it seeks to create itself a child. And then cheers ring out from the crowd, all expressing their joy after being freed from the tyranny of Trick2G's laughter. The goose would later be made an honorary LCS player for saving the day. And that is more or less what would happen if Trick2G went into the LCS.

Folder Hey, Doublelift likes him, he's always trying to host his stream when he gets done for some reason. And since , you know, Double is taking a more active approach in the team this split, maybe the gates of worlds will finally be opened to CLG.

For those that are interested, here's a Reflections interview done with the CLG coach several months afterwards - kzread.info/dash/bejne/n2GkyKyloLbSaKQ.html It offers a little more of an overhead view of the CLG Link situation

Wow, I listened the whole video, it felt like I was watching a Thorin's movie (Son of Thrain. Son of Thror!) *loud badass voice*. But anyway, like always very sharp commentary and good insight, I admire how you speak what you think with fair arguments, a lot of people should start looking into themselves before anything else and it trully looked like Link was making himself a defenseless victim all the time, and worse, a salty one, he's blind by his ego. I don't think he's returning to LoL anymore, he said it too, he'll fade into nothingness, that could be a new hope for CLG because maybe after this situation they learn to pay attention on what's happening and actually fix with proper management before it's too late for CLG. For now the only player that apparently puts effort on the team is aphro, I can in his eyes that he cares about the team. And I'm a big of Pobelter, I'm glad to see him back in the scene once again and maybe be the piece that CLG needs, hopefully, for healthy split. 1:22:30 - LOLZ WHATEVER LOLZ CHOCKED LMAO. I cracked up so much on that part by the way HAHAHAHA

57:55 Chauster also said that Link was actually one of those guys. I think to summarize that is that while he has some right points on the micro level (a lot of wrong ones too), his message on the macro level is just wrong. It is not that there is a problem around him that he failed to fix, he is PART of the problem.
