I don't think Odin technically gave up on him either. He just understood that he might have to kick him out the house if he refused to not act like a prick lol. Just like he did to Thor and the first movie and Hella as well. She is likely the only one he truly had to cut out the family. For Odin, the moment you apologize all is forgiven but you have to realize you were the one in the wrong first of course. Loki finally got his act together in Thor 3.

no I think Odin gave up on Loki in Thor the dark world. He would have killed Loki if not for Frigga. That’s not tough love that’s him being rageful and not caring about Loki. He banished Thor but he never threatened to kill him

It was his insecurities that made him feel this way. Odin loved him but Loki was such an over the top prankster that it gets frustrating to deal with I'm sure.

I was kind of dying inside when Thor told Loki "I mourned for you, I cried for you." And Loki's just like "And...?" I feel like it was kind of cruel of him but he's done a lot of cruel things in the past lol. His redemption is what counts. And also he was like the definition of anti-hero in TDW 😂 He played good but it was mostly for his best interest. In Ragnarok he was more hero but Endgame was his first selfless act and the most selfless of that version of Loki. And then we played rewind but I would say anything about Loki season 2 ending unless you've seen it 🤐

The fact that Loki knew that Thanos would kill him for his failure but still sabotaged his invasion despite the mind control kills me

Loki and Thor is the best sibling in marvel and seeing this makes me almost cry every time

Loki was never bad he just wanted to be loved, to have a place where he belongs, this just makes me cry :(

They way he searched for his brother, even he knew that would be the end. He rather holding Loki that finding a way to save his own life. Once hi lost Loki, he lost everything.

In fact, he already gave up when Loki "killed" their mother but 30 minutes later he regretted it lol

Thor is the best marvel story by far

All of Loki’s acts were merely an attempt to gain the approval and love he felt he wasn’t getting from his father and brother and after realising that he would never get it he tried to make his own and yet even in the end he died for them

I hope you're happy, I am now crying. I've not watched any Marvel and yet, I'm here crying over friendships, relationships and basically all the characters that I have hardly any idea about.
