Thomas Sowell's teachings have helped shape me into a successful man, despite initially being a prisoner of victim mentality.

Dr. Thomas Sowell leaves a sense of inadequacy in me. At 93, is wrote another brilliant book? This guy is beyond genius. He speaks facts and he dismantles false philosophies. Thank you Dr. Thomas Sowell.

93 years old. The most ignored genius in US history. Also read his analysis of the dead ball versus live ball eras in baseball. (hint. it was not the ball it was the hitters that changed)

Sowell is incredible, though he's in his 90s now. He's written some incredible books. Anti-ideological, fact-oriented. And he got into top universities before affirmative action existed. One can see him in videos as a very young man on Bill Buckley's Firing Line, and in a show with Milton Friedman, and as a middle aged man on other videos. I love his deep devotion to objectivity and fact. It makes his intellect more than just subjective. Most intellectuals today are incredibly subjective and ideological. They pay attention only to the evidence that confirms their own biases. I don't get that sense at all from Sowell. In some ways he reminds me of Leonard Nimoy's Spock, and I love that about Sowell. I don't mean there's no emotion. But his soul has been deeply transformed by a kind of scientific discipline. The way he thinks also reminds me of Sherlock Holmes. He's not into pet theories or isms, he's utterly evidence and fact based, and very skilled at drawing together facts in such a way that, of themselves, they reveal the truth. Often Sowell doesn't even state conclusions, but states facts that speak for themselves. Sowell is a very rare and superior kind of man and mind. I loved his book Intellectuals and Race. He's one of the very few wise men alive in this country. He deserves to be recognized as on a very high plane in our history.
