Even though there were several suggestion for other episodes, I thought about two challenges for you, uthermal. Inspired by the Ghost to GM, you could make an episode called like "uthermal covert ops" where you only build cloaked units (banshee, widow mine, ghost) and build hidden bases. The enemy won't even know what is happening. ;-) The second idea, just for fun, you could make an episode where you only build units that shoot fire (hellion/hellbats, nukes, liberators, battlecruisers) to make a convincing stand for your name ^^

I'm sure by the time he reaches masters he'll have to use Marines in full throttle. I doubt he's going to get wins otherwise. He's probably just trying out stuff while MMR is low.

he is completely dismantling his opponents without even using Medivacs. This man plays with both hands tied to his back and still beats them with his feet. He knows what he is doing. It would be even more of a stomp with medivacs. So he saves them for harder opponents.

I'm NA...Our man Thermy is on NA for this...I've been killing my hands playing so many games in hopes that I'd bump into him before his MMR got too high for us to versus on the ladder. Unfortunately, that did not happen :( Maybe next challenge! Either that, or I need to get "maor gud" faster lol.

I love this specific challenge more than all the others ones you’ve done. The number of variations makes it so much more fun.

It's refreshing to see someone type GG WP for once on these challenges. Also, how would you feel about doing a "hidden base/fake cheese" challenge, uThermal? In spirit of the Bongcloud challenge, I would love it if you were to have a hidden 2nd base and confuse your opponent into thinking you were doing a cheese/all-in of some sort! Especially with how good you are at reading your opponents I would love to see if you could really sell the cheese and have them freak out and take advantage of that economically or however you choose.

This is such a great show! It's amazing to have a chance to get to know a pretty high level pro, especially one with such good communication skills. I like the trappings, the little intro animation, the music, etc., and I like the way the commentary is so clean, cheerful and up beat. Even when it's negative it's not really, I mean, it's not actually vitriolic or acrimonious. I don't mind when my 11 year old comes in while I'm watching this, because the role modelling being presented is good. I feel like even on the rare occasion when uThermal actually sneers at someone or something, it just doesn't have the same acridity that a lot of content creators have. I think to some extent acrimony sells? Or draws attention, anyway? So that might be why so many content creators are so big on it. It's so nice to find one who isn't.

You are literally 75% of what I watch on KZread now. You're so good at commentating and playing. I don't know anyone as talented at SC2 as you.

18:25 - "If he didn't attack me" should be "If he hadn't attacked me". This is an example of the third conditional.

I was going to suggest in base proxies for this challenge, but you were ahead of me and already had some in the first episode. But I am requesting more of that good stuff. These maps have some huge main bases, so I think the map makers agree: hidden in-base bunkers, barracks, planataries.

Love to watch and listen to all your experience and the details you know and use to your advantage! Timings, builds, how to react to different situations,.. AND still having fun enjoying your own challenges so it#s not too easy for you.. just insane! :D

I'm enjoying watching this so much. I haven't played SC2 competitive for years but watching you work within the constraints and finding a build that works, I love it. I miss doing that and finding your own way. I don't have the time but can live by proxy though your video hahaha!

Purple is the best color. I didn't even realize units are highlighted behind buildings until you switched to purple last episode, That neon glow is dope. The purple, dark grey, light grey buildings are nice, royal af. (i don't play sc2 (sc1 long time ago), but you make me want to play)

Hey Thermy, thanks for keeping me sane through the last year of law school! I actually got back into Starcraft after quitting 11 years ago, and even switched to Terran in part because of you (used to be a Protoss player). Really appreciate how you're both so skilled and also humble and humorous. For a future challenge, I'd really love to see Mass Battlecruisers or Mass Thors to Grandmaster (or better yet, Mass BCs/Thors to Grandmaster)! Maybe I'm unable to comprehend the nuances, but it seems very bizarre to me that Terran's T3 units don't seem to be where their late game fighting power lies. Would be really cool to see someone going late game and wining with just the two of them, especially when they each seem to have lots of well-known counters. It would be amazing to see a 200/200 army of T3 units looming over an enemy base. I also wonder if there's some synergy between BCs and Thors, since Thors have the range to zone off air units that might threaten the BCs, while BCs shred light ground units that counter Thors. Possible format: Allowed 1 Reaper, 2 tanks and as many marines as needed for defence, but have to go pure BCs/Thors for attacking or once it's economically viable. You can also have a few Ravens for detection and the synergy between Anti-Armour missile and BCs' fast attack speed, and some medivacs for Thor drops. Thanks again, and keep up the good work!

Try some bunker sub challenge. Make all bunker upgrades, fill the map with bunkers, contain him with bunkers, and you're only allowed to win with marines shooting from bunkers - aka you can only shoot bases from bunkers

On stargazers when you take the pocket expo, build the cc next to the minerals blocking the expo and have the scv mine it while you morph the orbital. I'm pretty sure it's more efficient than sending the scv before and building the cc in the center.

dude the marine vs colossus match was insane

Hey Marc, you know MARINE TELEPORTATION? You just make a lot of bunkers 1 space of distance each other, and spam marines to the first bunkers and keep clicking to unload marines. Each bunker must be pointed to the next one, and they must be build inline from your base to the enemy bases. Every marine that spaw will eb instantly at the oponnent base as soon u keep clicking to unload with all bunkers .

Random fun fact: the first opponents username is a reference to a news report prank involving an Asian airline crash. Pranksters gave a news channel false information naming the pilots "Sum Ting Wong" (somethings wrong) "Wi Tu Lo" (we're too low) "Ho Lee Fuk" (holy fuck) "Bang Ding Ow" (crash noises). There's videos of the news reporters listing these false names for Television, LOL!

In the early days Tharson played a Game with Marine, Medivacs and Battlecruisers against a Zerg, that went Baneling Queen Corrupter and pulled it off. That was one of the very few Builds I tried that actually worked against my friends (I am super bad, play only for fun but that build was very funny)

As a challenge what about doing a Walker army of goliaths and thors? They are good vs air and ground, but not the best by any means. A single raven is allowed per "army" for the vision - but NO turrets (unless the raven is all that's left). Considering how much is needed to make thors this would be a major handicap. Seeing a (slow) Walker army striding across the map would be cool. And SCV scouting would be essential at first - and useful for repairs in the field later. ???? 😍

Beating Colossus with marine? That's pure skill to pull it off!

Wow this episode was very very cool brother... And marines are absolutely insane, best Terran unit besides ghost and best basic unit of all races hands down. I think once he gets to more long macro games in this challenge we're really going to have to see some clever use of bunkers since mass marines will just get annihilated by splash damage once the opponent realizes he's fully committing to the bit. If both players max out and the opponent has an army that can slaughter 150 marines, then he's going to have to contain them with rings of buildings and beat them through attrition, if he doesn't want to have to just roll over and die.

This is how I like to play the game, just get good at rushing marines and do it in every-single-match. Win or lose it does not matter, I play to relax and not to compete.

Btw when he says that upgrades are huge in TvT; a 2 upgrade advantage means your marines deal 7 damage and take 5. Your marines deal 40% more damage than theirs.

Get the engineering bay building upgrades when they go colossus. It will make colossus and turrets have the same range and take away the light unit bonus from the colossus.

As a suggestion I was wondering if the colour of Marine to GM should be something around Teal or light Blue. I mean it's a pretty colour and that can make the difference between the Marines in Teal and the Cyclone/Mine in Purple
