Even better than that is when I was 16 and got arrested for my loud stereo AND exhibition of speed at 11am on Sunday morning (small town in upstate NY). I Then I got released R.O.R. without realizing they had called my mom and dad to authorize the release....So I then proceeded to hang out with my friends all day as if nothing had happened before returning home at 9pm for curfew and said "oh I got a ticket for my loud stereo today" and my parents were like WTF you were arrested!! and then never came home? OH THE DAYS BEFORE CELL PHONES!!! LMAO... I was grounded for roughly 3 months if I recall correctly!! LoL 😆

@@pilsplease7561 I've been lucky enough to not go through too many cars in my life, but every one of them has graced triple digits at one point. Worst one was my second car, '01 Volvo V70, had it for like a week, was on the way to a car show and ended up on a 2 lane road with a divided median all by myself (with the exception of my parents following behind). I laid into it, and although it took awhile, we hit about 110 before I let off and coasted the rest of the way to our turn, windows down, sunroof open, etc. Well, a couple months later we decided to put some new tires and wheels on it, but for shits and giggles, tested the alignment first. Each corner was pointing in a different direction by about 3 degrees. Not major, but we were doing 110ish with a fucked up alignment.

Wanted a manual got gifted an automatic.. Probably a good thing it was so slow i never got a ticket in it. I used to power slide it in the rain. One time i was running late for work. Pouring rain, im flying off the arden exit coming from business 80/downtown sac. I hit the brakes and start hydroplaning. Right in front of my work im almost there BOOOMMM THE driver front wheel slams into a sidewalk. I drive into my work. The WHOLE WHEEL is pushed back into the fender tire rubbing by the door. Great. I drive it to a repair shop down arden way near fulton. They put it on a lift and call me back. YOURE NOT GONNA BELIEVE THIS. Im 20yrs old freaking out thinking i broke the rack/axle. The tech walks me under the car shows me one small piece of twisted metal THIS IS ALL U BROKE. Me not a car guy then AND? tech: well weld this up youre good to go. I drove that car for another 6+ years no issues but the alignment was a little jacked. Thinking back now i could have had an alignment done and would had been perfect WAS A TANK

Me and some friends were being chased by some guys in BMW's. Apparently we had cut them off and now they wanted to get us. I'm in my Ford Ranger, my friend was in his Ford Probe. These guys were driving E30 M3's and an M2. We can't lose them and they are trying to push us off the road. We were in an area where there were lots of ponds and lakes by the side of the road. We decided to just punch it and maybe outrun them. We go flying and get to 80. The BMW's have no problem keeping up and now are throwing things at us. We go right past 2 sheriff's deputies and they pull us over and then the BMW's after a short chase. Those guys get locked up for running from the cops. They bring them back to where we were stopped. The one guy comes out and says that we were chasing them and we threw stuff on their car. So they were chasing us. Said we threatened to kill them, we were trying to force them off the road and a whole bunch of other lies. Finally the deputy looks at us and asks 'Is that true guys?' We tell him "Nope". Deputy says ok, you're free to go. This pisses the BMW guys off and he wants to know why they believe us and they say it's because they drive BMW's and it's because they have money. The deputy calls us back over and asks him to show the BMW guys our ID's. So we pull out our ID's and it wasn't our license but our sheriff's office ID's indicating we were sheriff's explorers. Then they let us go through their cars, which really pissed the guy off. We found 3 guns, 4 baseball bats, 3 machetes, and several baggies of cocaine. These guys were part of an Asian street gang out of Chicago. One of the guys was wanted by the US Marshals and the FBI wanted to talk to the others. We had inadvertently helped capture several high ranking members of the gang. We wound up getting commendation letters and got to testify in federal court about them chasing us down and how scared we were. All because the one guy swore we cut him off and we didn't. Well we might have..

We got caught by a Downey, California, motorcycle cop. This cop really cut us a huge break. He wrote both of us up for doing 60 in a 35. We were actually going faster. We both could have been arrested for misdemeanors and had our cars impounded. I got to go to court by myself as an adult. The classmate I was racing had to go to court with his mother.

When i was 17 i had a 2000 ford explorer awd. I decided to try to drift it, crashed into a tree with the front fender/bumper, drove it home and pulled into my parking spot at home nose up to a fence) my dad gets home while im walking to the door, gets out of his car and goes "whyd you pull into your spot? You always back in" well fuck... my punishment was i wasnt allowed to fix the damage, had to drive the car like that for 3 months. My grandmother later told me why he knew. When my dad was 17 my grandmother had a 1981 chevy malibu, my dad drift tapped a bridge with it, so he pulled in the driveway to hide the damage from being seen from the house, later that night ny grandpa got home and found the damage. Lesson learned, next time i crash a car and need to hide it, dont pull in the driveway, back in.

Loved these stories. Especially since I also went to Hart high, and I've lived in this town and can picture everywhere he's talking about, even the interior of the courthouse 😅

Ed, next time you speak to this guy, ask him to say “Le mans” to you. The way he says it is as funny as he pronounces genuine. “Gen new wine”

Are you still under the assumption that when I say “the 24 hours of L E M O N S” which is an actual event, the I mean the 24 hours of LeMans. I know how to pronounce Le Mahhhnnnn. I speak French.

Day 1 of driving alone. It snowed. Applied the breaks. Turned right. DId a 45 deg vs a 90 degree turn. No one taught me basic limit of grip concepts. Did a slow slide into a snowbank and cracked the valence on my 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. Good lesson to learn early in a semi harmless way but it was not fun at the time.

Airline pilots have to learn how to react to every conceivable emergency situation to get a pilot's license. Drivers just have to show they can drive in regular conditions to get a driving license. No wonder flying is safer.
