That magpie is saying “you’re waving a cracker at me? Do I look like a bloody parrot?” The snake is a diamond python. There’s lots of them around my area. I wouldn’t like to find one hanging about in my garage because I’m not fond of snakes but the only thing he’s likely to eat at your house is rodents.

The reason other countries earn more on their natural resources is because we allow multi nationals to take our minerals and pay us Royalties , instead of nationalising our minerals and sell the ore ourselves.

it only goes on PROFIT, so if they make enough losses they don't pay. The MRRT is a 30 per cent tax on the taxable profit of the resource. An extraction allowance equal to 25 per cent of the otherwise taxable profit will be deductible to recognise the profit attributable to the extraction process.

The pricing of energy resources was based on carbon pricing. It was a sweetheart deal done by the liberal national party. Surprisingly those same energy companies donate money to those politicians and surprisingly enough they get energy/resources industry jobs when they retire. Remember the truism, “It’s only a rort if you’re not in on it!”.

The guy in the tattoo is Bruce Lehrmann. He was a public servant in federal parliament and was accused of sexual assault by a fellow public servant, Bittany Higgins, in the office of a federal minister. His trial was aborted because a juror was caught with material showing that he had researched the case on line despite specific instructions by the judge not to do so. He has denied the accusations and is suing a media company for airing stories that assumed he was guilty. A pretty famous media person here even included material that assumed his guilt before his trial in an acceptance speech for our TV awards (think Emmies). He has now been caught doing lots of unsociable but perhaps not illegal things and has been kicked out of a house that he was being allowed to stay in free of charge because he was up all night boozing with mates and loudly singing karaoke in a quiet residential area. Not the sort of person I would be getting a tattoo of, but maybe that's just me.

It's always a good idea to be nice to magpies. The get a bad rap, they're clever, they remember, and they talk to each other. So if you get red flagged by them, that mob will hate you and everyone you associate with forever. But it goes both ways, if they like you, they are super chill bros. The maggies by my local train station are really nice to me, but I've seen them enact ultraviolence on others. Never fed em or anything, I just always say hello, have a chat as I'm walking, maybe some flattery (very vain critters). Very vocal and social so they respond very well to that. Being polite never hurt anyone, body language n tone goes a long way.

Aussie magpies are frigging awesome. Make friends with them when you can. And who can't be enchanted by their little warble? I went back to my previous home I left 18 months ago with a tiny bit of mincemeat and they practically greeted me on my arrival. I've never been attacked by a magpie anywhere, and I like to think it's partially because I acknowledge them and say hello. In my new area, the magpies are unfortunately on the other side of the apartment building, but I still hang around for a minute to say hello.

So now I go to a clinic in the middle of Melbourne near one of the sites I work at, because if they don't get to my appointment within 10 minutes I just leave and say, "sorry, gotta get back to work" then reschedule.

I have some magpies that often hang around my place. My "rules of engagement" to let them know that I'm not a threat are: (1) Ignore them and let them go about their business; (2) Don't stare at them; (3) If you have to walk towards them, walk at a leisurely pace so that they don't think that you're rushing at them. It seems to work, because they didn't bother me at all during last nesting season.

Bulk billing is what it’s called when Medicare covers all the charges. When we pay we only pay a gap, the issue is with rent, electricity and other clerical costs at your local practice the Medicare rebates aren’t covering those costs plus the doctors wages so the gap is increasing. (The average gap is now about $42). With the natural gas, yes our government is stupid to only take royalties and not tax because otherwise they won’t get into power (the same companies give them political donations). Not to mention the scare mongering that if they tax them the costs will be passed onto Australians (yet the costs are still being passed onto us Australians).

Expect rough treatment from locals of you don't pick up your dogs sh*t. They have to be on the leash outside your property and in an enclosed yard so they cannot escape when home. Most people get them in at night as a barking dog can also get you fined or the dog seized. The fines start at $110. Only a very few parks and beaches allow dog off leash. At most public beaches dogs are banned. Dangerous breeds like mastiffs and pit bulls are banned.

Magpies seem to have a lot of unnecessary bad press. They swoop in areas where they don't feel safe during Spring (Swooping Season) to warn off perceived predators. School arras seem to be the worst as kids do what kids do and that freaks them out. They don't swoop on people who they know and feel safe with. The best way to befriend them if you're walking in a new area is look at them directly and talk quietly to them. They like to see a person face on. They freak out when they see faces painted o the back of bike helmets as they know its a trick. I walk with a kelpie x red cattle dog early morning and late afternoon through magpie areas that is a also leash-free area. The dog has learned not to chase birds and the magpies check her out, recoginse her and me. They know we're calm and no threat. And they leave us alone in Swooping Season

More like $18 - 2 punnets at $8.99 each. I just checked the current Woolies price online - $7.90 a punnet. They are out of season though.

The oil thing is the type of oil and what it can be used for This dictates the price you get so the more uses the more it's worth Some oil only suitable for diesel other can be refined for diesel and petrol Then you got other uses like oil for plastic items That's why difference in price and quantities Nothing to do with companies ripping us off just our crude oil doesn't do everything Cheers mate 🦘🇦🇺👍

It's about LNG (liquified natural gas) exports. When Australia exported 15.4mt of LNG in 2008-09, the government raised $2.2bn in PRRT. In 2022-23, exports had increased 437% to 83mt but PRRT revenue was up just 7% to $2.4bn. Meaning we are getting a lot less per unit exported. Despite enlarging their facilities (or building new ones), and having a huge increase in business, these poor companies can't seem to make any extra profit. Maybe they are in the wrong business. Or they are ripping us off.

I’m astonished. Here in Australia we , the public , pay the highest price in the world for energy ! Our household gas and electricity prices per unit, in South Australia, are the highest. Elon musk came to our rescue and built a solar farm so we can avoid blackouts.

They are talking about GAS. We have Petrol. Remember from science: gas, solid, liquid. We have Petroleum - not gasoline. Australia has virtually no oil. We import all of our oil. We have high petrol prices. We have at any one time, extremely low reserves of oil for our entire country. We do however have massive reserves of gas - which we export cheaply and at the expense of us locals. Gas is more expensive than electricity. We use to have so many of our cars, almost all taxis running our gas: LPG - Liquefied Petroleum Gas - cheap: 19¢ per litre back in 1998 in Melbourne. Still almost half of petrol today, if you can find it. Utterly f... ing ridiculous. Our local Ford Falcon dedicated LPG system was world's best and patented. Remote priming system. They sell it cheap. Pay little tax. Big controversy at the moment with projects and environmental groups. We are becoming a major GREEN energy exporter. Some states have been entirely run on green energy eg ACT. You guys must stop calling a liquid gas - or just say gasoline. Ahhhhh........ 😂

Hey Ryan do yourself a favour and watch the democracy manifest guy video! Quick outline, the cops mistakenly arrested an eccentric artist instead of the drug dealer they were after, and the quotes he came out with while they were wrestling him into the car were hilarious! I won't spoil it just go watch it, he was just "enjoying a succulent Chinese meal!!"

The snake was just a python. The man in the tattoo is an accused rapist - two completely different cases but one was him accused of raping a drunk woman in Parliament House. He denied it, there was a mistrial because of a bad juror, and the police didn't press the case again because of the mental health of the woman who was allegedly raped. Funny how some innocent bloke gets accused twice by different people from different towns. He's now suing tv stations who did not name him, but he claims they ruined his life. Then another tv station was caught for giving him thousands of dollars in in-kind payments for his story. They paid his rent for a year in a luxury place, paid for prostitutes, just a generally lavish reward so they could say they didn't pay him money for his story. I think he's a grub.
