“This Was the First Step of System 03”
Ғылым және технология
System 03 has completed its first journey to the GPGP and is bringing home over 45 tons of plastic. See up close as our crew use in-the-field modeling data to hunt plastic hotspots across the Pacific, while we test our new Marine Animal Safety Hatch to make sure we’re only catching plastic - not fish. When I drive around on a garbage pickup day I see garbage cans just overflowing of trash along with gobbs of empty Amazon boxes I just can imagine having that much trash every week. I normally have 1/2 of a 3 gallon bag once every week! Maybe the garbage company should start charging $20.00-$30.00 a pound that would open some eyes. As for the litter bugs, when caught a fine equal to a years salary and a community service of 12 tones of trash pickup

@overthemountain3z3 yeah I know that's why we are doomed, maybe not in 10 or 20 years but it will happen. I haven't used any plastic in a good 10 years. It can be done just takes a few months to figure it out and do it . But I'm old fashion my kids had cloth diapers and breastfeed baby food was made at home always used cloth towels instead of paper towels. I'm perty much a cheapskate with a small footprint

@@keithb6717 Why are you soo bitter to the pursuit of a cleaner world? Boyan and the ocean clean up team have done more than anyone in this field and we’re seeing the results first hand. The inventor is worth a couple million. He should reap the benefits of his hard work. (Most of which goes back into the project) Ocean clean up is making a difference, one I would gladly give money too. Don’t be soo mad hun.
Honestly, watching the progress of development, and seeing how much you fish out of the ocean, it's inspiring. Whenever I walk the dog where there are no trashcans these days, I bring a bag to gather garbage in. And for everyone that lives near the sea. Picking garbage works. It really does. Because what is picked up goes out of circulation, and won't wash up elsewhere. Here in Norway, we're seeing a big difference from just a couple of years past in how much trash washes up. So while Ocean Cleanup takes care of the sea, we should do our part and pick up what washes back up on land. =)

I have found that if you pick up garbage, people are less likely to drop more garbage in that spot; if they see garbage already there, they are more likely to litter.

Hey, just to clarify, are you saying you are noticing a significant increase or decrease in trash that is being washed up?
After watching this, a movie quote came to me, “we’re gonna need a bigger boat”. Now I'm no merchant engineer but a left-field idea take the merchants of ocean death, the factory whaling ships and repurpose them, already have a huge ramps down to the water, huge winches and massive holds to store the plastics. Turn them in to a positive life giving effect on the ocean.
Nobel Prize!! The engineering is incredible. Thank you from one human to another for cleaning our home. I will continue to donate to this worthy cause.
This project is a fantastic example of humanities shame and love. The contrast. Thank you 🙏💖
Loved the plastic dance!! 👏👏 You guys are heroes and humanity and all living beings are indebted to you for your service ❤
You're cleaning other peoples' mess. Hats off to you. 🙏❤
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I am SO proud of you. I'm now 75 and have always been concerned about any form of pollution and to see the younger and next generation being so caring, responsible and innovative just fills me with hope. God bless you all!! ❤ Much love from South Africa
Super heroes don’t always wear a cape 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 thanks to everyone involved in this project
Just wanted to take a moment and thanks all of you guys who are saving our planet. You're great. ❤❤❤
Meatballs of Plastic & The Plastic Dance? LOL! I'm so freaking proud of every single person working on this project. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!!!
I have followed your channel since KZread recommended it to me during the early days of "System 1." Today watching the video of the current "System 3" makes me appreciate what my family and myself can do to help in your efforts. Shopping at The Ocean Cleanup store is one way, and what we use in our homes daily is another way. Since the very first video, it has stuck with me all the plastic trash just one family of 5 can make. My family now recycles plastic, and everything that says it is recyclable and I am always disappointed with how much "single-use plastic" trash we use. When we started recycling plastics it would fill two to three average-size trashcans monthly, from plastic bags, plastic wraps of products, plastic containers, plastic parts, and more, now we are down to one trashcan. No more turning a blind eye to it all and believing it is someone else's problem. All of you who are part of The Ocean Cleanup, whether on land or sea deserve a huge round of applause, you all are doing a fantastic job. I can honestly say that your job is the job I hope one day none of you will have a need for. Thank you for your eagerness to solve this pollution and deadly problem for our wildlife!

I am 64 and to see how mankind has not cared for our planet makes me cry. I don't understand how the humans that don't care about our world think. I thank this organization for doing something to help our world be a better place I just hope it is not to late.
If I was younger I'd be there helping. Thank you so much ❤
Highly underrated Video. Thank you soo much for your great work and your efforts
These people are the new heroes ❤
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to all the incredible people involved with this project.
You guys are the best of us. Thankyou for being in the world.
And most plastic collected here is only the stuff that floats and not the stuff that drifts down. Thanks for doing this collection.
Kudos to Maersk and involved crew. Thank you!
👏 Definitely one of the greatest project in the history of this planet 🌎
With so many environmental negatives at the moment, it very satisfying to see such a positive start. Thank you all involved
Amazing! You are the best. Would be interesting to see a video on what’s happening with the plastic then.
Thank you for what you are doing. It is inspiring a new generation to see that individuals with a dream can make a difference.
My respect for everyone bringing these planet saving projects into existence and the humans operating them is immeasurable.
Love u all for doing this important work to clear the oceans of plastics.❤
What an amazing legacy these men are building.
Truly thankful for the steady perseverant attitude of all the guys featured in this video. I'm dancing for joy too seeing all that plastic pour in. Godspeed to you all~ 🎉
Such a blessing that these people don't take this casually. Or sitting down. Thank you Ocean Clean up!!xoxo
I’ve been a big doubter of direct ocean plastic capture for a while, but this is incredible. I think the river projects are more important, but this is still so cool to see
Hopefully these notable catches can inspire some corporate sponsors to assist with other vessels for reducing the turnaround time for The System. Great job everyone!
You guys ROCK!
You are all heroes. Such a joy seeing your success, I've been following since the beginning. Flemming, your passion and excitement to see such a big catch is contagious. Keep doing your plastic dance, I hope it starts a trend!😅
Thank you so very much!!! It's so GOOD to see the younger generation being so innovative and hardworking. It gives hope for the future ❤ Love from South Africa
I’m so happy about this project! So glad to see all the net you’re getting too.
Donate when you can! Keep up the good work! Share it with friends!
The project may look simple at first, but the amount of highly skilled engineering, programming and small details involved in this is mind-blowing
You people are doing a great job, Thank you All 👍🏻🌹👍🏻🌹
Solution, Involve a 3rd ship that is strictly for plastic processing. Very similar to fishing vessels going to a processing shipinstead of going to shore. This way system 3 can catch continuously while 1 ship does all the sorting continuously. Could also lead to more systems in the water at one time.
Thanks guys. You guys need to know how appreciated you guys are and what you are doing.
👏👏👏👏well done again Team! A big THANK YOU to you all! 🇳🇱🌷🌷🌷🌷
You folks are wonderful. Thank you is such a small word for how I feel right now !! I will keep my donations coming (or going, whichever LOL)
How do you off load the plastics from the boats? Where does it go from there? And watching your videos gives me so much hope for our future. Thank you
Thank you so much everyone working on this!!!
God bless all of you. Amazing work!

I agree, it is upsetting to see how we have (collectively) polluted our beautiful oceans. Thank you so much for inventing your capture system. Curious though - where does the garbage go once it is out of the ocean? I wish we (collectively) would phase out plastic.
👍👌👏 Oh WOW, simply fantastic! Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and especially health to all involved people.
Amazing job guys!!! One step at a time. And props to you for taking care of the marine life!
I am so excited for the future that this is happening.🎉🎉🎉😊
So happy there's people out there doing this!
System 003 seems to be working great. The rivers that are polluting are also starting to be addressed, but what is being done about the vast majority of the source coming from fishing equipment? This seems to be just as big of a problem as the rivers and I am honestly curious about what ideas are being worked on to address that part of the problem. Nice work everyone.

The bigger thing really is education, particular in developed countries where the infrastructure should be present to deal with waste and therefore no excuses When I was young in the UK in the 1980s, there was the Keep Britain Tidy campaign. There were TV adverts shown, especially during educational/kids TV shows, posters etc and so it was drilled into you.
You lovely, wonderful people. Thank you.
Un grande progetto finalmente utile per i nostri mari , per l'ambiente e contro questo scempio creato dall'uomo. Grazie a voi 🙏

Thank you Ocean Clean, so proud of you all. Fantastic work
thank you so much for cleaning our ocean! You all are awesome!
Perfect job! 👍👍👍 Thank you all!
Just incredible. So nice to see action. Next step to go after the fishing industry from what I see the majority of the wasted is from careless fishing.
I say it every time a new video comes out. I love this company! What an amazing group of people. Thank you for what you’re all doing!
I am always amazed by how much life is out there in the ocean and using that plastic as habitat. I'm glad to see it being cleaned up but now I wonder if by removing it there is some effect on those fish that were using it as habitat?
That's how you floss the oceans' plastic buildup. Awesome! 🤩
Wow all of you involved in this project are amazing. I would love to help with environmental clean up like this. God bless you for what you do sadly there are so many people that just don’t care about our planet.
I am so glad there are people like you doing cleanup of our oceans, i wish people would learn not to put trash on the ground
That Marine Safety hatch is just fascinating! Keep up the wonderful work! ❤🌎
It is encouraging to see the progress. It is a step by step demonstration of moving in the right direction. Thank you !
I have tremendous gratitude for what you are doing. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!!!!!

Well done. I continually support your wonderful work!
Thank you to everyone for your hard work 💪
Thank you so much for what you are doing. Always improving and testing 💪
The dedication and persistence of all of the people working on this project are so inspiring! One thing I keep noticing is how many still-usable plastic washing baskets there are in the ocean. I've had mine for about twenty years, and I've been trying never to throw it out. I keep mending it with duct tape :D
Thank you. I have been following you for years and you are amazing! Seriously
Great. Donation pays off. Respect to you all
You all are so inspiring and uplifting.
Amazing work yet again guys, we cant thank you enough for your work and commitment to cleaning our ocean
This is overwhelming thank you for all your efforts
Wonderful job, all involved! So happy and proud to be a supporter! Money well spent, I'd say. 👏👏👏👏
Thank you guys. The world thank you 🙏
Incredible work everyone this is amazing.
Thank you for all your hard work!
Wow. To all of you thank you so much for the hard work.
Thank you all so much! Let's all do the plastic dance ❤ and the escape system is brilliant! Has plastic supplanted any vegetable life like free-floating seaweed in the ocean gyres? Could future cleanup systems also reseed missing plants? I'm wondering what those fish hung around on before there was plastic.
Respect to all involved, Thankyou thankyou thankyou.!
Thank you!
May God bless you for what you're doing to save our planet.
You guys are doing such a wonderful and inspirational job. Never stop doing this and keep us updated! Thank you
