So there is a SECOND reason for slow-walking this -- especially at THIS time: 1) Yes, to take up as much time as possible to ensure that the trial does not happen before the election. ...but also, 2) To ensure that WHEN she dismisses the case, it CANNOT not be appealed, NOR could she face disciplinary action for DOING so. Her husband is the lawyer of one of Trump's mob buddies; Trump nominated her right before he left office (with his classified documents) to _the_ court with jurisdiction over Mar-A-Lago; Trump's lawyers fought tooth and nail to have the case tried in this tiny Fort Pierce court, rather than in Miami or DC, which would have been better venues for a federal case involving classified documents subject to CIPA rules; Florida senators blocked all of Biden's nominations for judges to the Southern District of FL so that she had a 1 in 3 chance to be pick-and for the rest, this is FLORIDA. One of these things could have been happenstance; not all of them.

Well, technically Trump got his lawyers to get the case assigned to Cannon. His intentions were clear in both picking her as a judge and picking her for the case, considering she was not anywhere near the closest judge to where the alleged crime was committed. But your layout of arguments is great.

Cannon can't dismiss the charges, because the evidence is overwhelming. She herself may be overwhelmed and may in fact be kicking the can down the road, but eventually we will get there.

I don't see why he says that this is a complicated case. We can all understand what theft of classified documents is and many people have been jailed in record time for the same crimes.
