I’m like scared to hear this already lol. I have bad migraines in between my eyes and about a year ago my eyes started moving not like….together and one would get lazy when I was tired so the dr diagnosed me with third cranial nerve palsy and sent me for mri with contrast because usually this is a sign of either a aneurysm, tumor or something pushing on that nerve and they found nothing. So I still don’t know what’s causing it. The eye stuff got better. I still feel my one eye occasionally get lazy when I’m especially tired, I also can’t have like light hit me fast in the am or it hurts really really bad but they move in sync now.

My friend who lives in MT became an infectious disease case study! She had a really tricky to diagnose case of rocky mountain spotted tick fever. Tons of doctors were stumped by her symptoms and she kept getting worse. She was graced with visits from experts from the CDC who had flown across the country to help out and record her case observations for better education. Once they figured out her illness, she responded really well to treatment. She's great now!

For those who have never been dismissed by the medical community or who haven’t dealt with a disease that the cdc has minimized for years despite having research proving it’s devastating effects - well, they may not understand the angst and frustration. It took 30 years and three kids who were sick their entire childhoods, before a doctor listened to me and tested me for Lyme and the co-infections that come with it. I passed the spirochetes and bacteria on to my kids when I was pregnant with them.

My dad had a brain aneurysm that ruptured a few years ago. He had a bad migraine that wouldn't go away, so he went to the ER, and when they did a CT scan, found an aneurysm about 4cm long and he had a ton of blood on his brain. He had to be life flighted to a bigger hospital for emergency surgery to fix it. They had to make a huge incision, and obviously cut into his skull. But thank GOD he survived and is ok now. Not many people catch/survive a brain aneurysm. We had lost my little sister less than a year prior to an OD, so I was so scared.

My mom had a very bad brain aneurysm a little over 17 years ago. She was at work and a colleague found her while she almost could not talk anymore. Everything went very fast. But yeah she was rushed to the hospital just in time and she not only survived, but completely recovered. It was really scary at that moment cause I was just 14 and later I found out that the bleed was way worse than they told me. I am forever thankful for the colleague and I hope to be as strong as my mom. ❤ I'm so happy your dad is okay! To me, brain aneurysms are one of the most scary things that can happen healthwise.

My family has a *long* line of spontaneous brain aneurysms (on both sides of both sides) the only one *not* to die instantly is my maternal grandmother, then later; me. I have to admit that the part making me squirm the most was the surgery talk (I woke up from the general anesthesia during mine) and while I've gone through many things; having a doctor poke your grey matter when they don't know you're conscious is pretty high on my "f*ck THAT" list.

I've had my diagnosis since I was 6yo and been through all kind of preventive medicine there is (besides botox treatment), so much so that I've been part of a one-year clinical study for prophylactic triptan injections, erenumab on chronic patients who don't respond to other treatments. Here's a list of SOS treatments that have been lifesavers honestly, and have prevented many trips to the ER for intravenous treatment. I hope this list might help someone: Naratriptan; eletriptan (pill) Sumatriptan (injection, like an epi-pen) Ondansetron (pill, for nausea) Tramadol (opioid pain med) [these are subject to prescription unfortunately] I've noticed I've been having less migraines when taking 800mg of Magnesium per day (which is double the recommended dosage for "regular" people; for those who suffer from migraines 400mg won't do anything) Lastly, I swear by chinese tiger balm and oils during a crisis. I get severe neck pain along my migraine headaches and these are the only products that I can depend on besides actual pills.

Wow! I have to tell you a short story of my own parasitic invasion. This happened to me TWICE! I have M. S. and a few years ago I lived in an apartment with a bad well! The place was brand new; and the owners claimed that putting chloride in the well would make it safe. I still refused to drink it; but was told bathing in it wouldn’t hurt. After just a few weeks; I began to feel seriously ill and had extreme diarrhea; until I could no longer even leave my bed. I had lost in 5 weeks 60 lbs. I finally got to a Dr. and was asked if I had been out of the country which I had not. He gave me a prescription and sent me home. Within a week I had lost another 8 lbs. I went back to the Dr. and was tested for Giardia; which was positive. This is an intestinal parasite that is a worm that was literally eating and growing in my intestines. It was from bathing in the bad water; which they were neglecting to treat! A antibiotic took care of it in no time and I got well; only to have to return to my apartment; where the landlord who was now supposed to put in a new artisan well; didn’t. So I got sick Again!!!!! This time all 8 tenants in this brand new building had to be relocated at the owners expense. He was left with no alternative; so he sold the property; and it was totally redone with a newly dug well! I now have a big fear of swimming in lakes and I have a shower seat where I live now; and NEVER drink tap water. It took me over a year to fully recover my weight and still obviously have PTSD. when it comes to water. Ty Swoop for being you! ✌️

I had brain surgery in Melbourne, Australia in 2000. I have epilepsy which became uncontrolled after I gave birth to my daughter. I live in New Zealand and we spent almost two years experimenting with medications until we ran out of options and surgery was my only option. I was put out completely while they opened up my skull but then they brought me round because where they were operating was deep in the left frontal lobe and right around where gross motor function, speech and various other important functions are located in the brain. The idea was that they stimulate the brain with electrodes and ask me test questions so they could hear me speaking and make sure I was cognitively ok while they literally scraped away at a nodule in my brain which was like a reverse tumour. It went inside the frontal lobe rather than protruding out. Unfortunately the surgeon had a wee accident and actually cut through the transmitter or synapse or connection for speech but, fortunately, I kept talking. The function literally jumped from the left side to the right side. I was 31 then. Now I am almost 55 and, although my speech is fine, I have a tendency to lose words while I am speaking. They have a longer way to go from brain to tongue. I also ended up with depression and anxiety which I had never had before. I still have those things. I have also never recovered the same energy I had beforehand. It took two years for me to recover. Apparently having someone messing around in your brain has side effects. But I'm much better off than I was before. My seizures were lasting almost all day. It's been almost three years since my last seizure, although it took 20 years to get me that far.
