League is known to honor the Champion team at Worlds with a custom skin, but coach skins aren't included. So kk0ma (the coach) asked Riot for a custom Coach Skin if he became a three times world champion coach - which he did. Although the company did not gift a custom Teemo skin (the champion of request by kk0ma), they did give him a custom ward skin 'SKT T1 KKOMA WARD', which was a beautiful way to honor the coaching team as well.

This coaching staff also included cCarter who I believe is the head coach at the time. Kkoma was the strategic/drafting coach. Ccarter's role has been pivotal in SKT's 3 world championship runs as he managed the team's mental and he kept them motivated. When he resigned to coach another game, you can clearly see the effects especially with the decline of T1 starting in late 2017.

They made a new roster that time and it just didn't work and just shy to claim the world's title and because of the constant actual money they have to work with on they have left and knowing skt is probably going to have a rebuilding period and people just moved on and now after some few tweaks and fixes for the org itself now has one of the best environment for any pro player and I bet you with a young roster they can be dynasty but a lot of things needs to happen first so even know we can see how the current T1 is looking and it's pretty damn scary

@@silvertigra4117 Yes, 2017 SKT fell shy of winning World's despite Faker going 1v9 during the quarters and semis. The rest of the team I feel has severely underperformed especially bot with Bang experiencing burnout. Having a head coach like cCarter and currently with Polt who can manage player mindset along with other tweaks within the org's infrastructure can truly make a middling team into a world class team capable of winning Worlds. I also agree with you that SKT going through a rebuild is not that far of looking back.

while the player quality is lower, at least the few north american pros left typically end up playing within the scene for far more longer. the burnout and mental fatigue, combined with shaky financial stability doesnt bode well for a very volatile generation

The funniest part about that is that it's not even true, since cCarter (formerly known as L.i.E.S.) was the team's head coach at the time. He also said in an interview that both the team and coaching staff suffered a mental collapse after 2017 Worlds (I know that's a year later, than what Caedrel talked about), so I'm not sure if this should be presented in such a positive light

Ofc later down the year Guma and Oner became much more refined in their gameplay and probably would’ve been a full t1 draft for the asia games if it was mid worlds t1 team we are talking about. Also JDG had been paving the golden road for the past year for themselves and Chovy + Gen G have been T1’s biggest kryptonite. Also he had to sub in for faker due to injury.
