Guys, please don't attack or harass anyone on my behalf. I just wanted to share the story cause I feel like there is an important lesson in here and to educate on copyright system and abusing copyright strikes.

I'm so glad you shared that because talent doesn't excuse that behavior and a lot of us were following. I didn't attack her, but I let her know I didn't want to see her material on the sub anymore if having it there came with the risk of some other innocent creator being punished. The copyright strike system is broken and can be used viciously and maliciously as it was here, and as long as that's true, people who wield it like a club deserve need to hear from the community that it's not going to be acceptable. I think the appropriate negative reaction she got is how she's going to learn that bullying people with a broken system won't be passively ignored. I hope you will update us if there's any change in the situation though, because people deserve second changes when lessons are actually learned.

I don't know what's worse in this story : that you received a copyright strike from someone who obviously doesn't know anything about copyright, or the fact that she seems determined not to take it back just to give you a lesson like you were a child. This is so absurd that I guess she doesn't really have a problem with people talking about her builds (which would be quite absurd as she posted them on line, with credits), she just have a problem with you. If she truly believed in what she accused you of, it wouldn't have been such a problem for her talking directly to you. She knew she couldn't be contradicted because she was wrong. Full support to you, MrStar, everyone here knows you have no problem giving credits to other creators and highlighting them in your videos. As for the mysterious content creator, if you read me : there are a lot of credits issues, contents stolen, and I understand how sensible this subject can be when you put so much work and passion in your creations. You are right to stand for the full respect of your work... But if I can allow myself a bit of advice : MrStar was not the right target in this fight. I truly hope you'll come to realize he is nothing but an ally for every honest content creator in this community. Take care.

If it's whom I susupect she stole that build from a smaller creator. I ALMOST called her out on it as she gave zero credit to the original creator on Reddit or YT. The arrogance that she would steal that build idea without giving credit and then striking another creator is unforgivable. You don't do that.. Yeah I had seen that other bridgerton build a few days prior to watching hers and I was like huh? Didn’t someone else do something pretty similar but no credit was given to them. Yes it wasn’t the exact same but she credits another creator for rock bordered paths all the time even though hers aren’t the exact same.

Yess! I watched the OG build from Laynie and then 5 days later watched hers and was so taken back when she mentioned how SHE came up with it. Like no girlie, you didn't. It makes me mad when credit is not given to content creators that are much smaller and deserve the credit. Laynie has wonderful builds.

As a member of both communities, having seen the screenshots she posted, I’m going to have to say that she is in the wrong on this. It’s disappointing to see someone I’ve respected behave in this manner. I can only think that she must have not been in the proper headspace to interpret your messages and the initial mention. I found out about you through the unnecessary drama surrounding you. I’ve been following Elle for years but seeing how she abused the copyright strike system and twisted the whole scenario made me instantly unfollow her and seek your content out. I never realized just how entitled she was. All this fuss over a build that she didn’t even come up with herself 😭 What you included in that video was 100% fair use and you even credited her. This is just insane. KZread really needs to redo how their copyright flags and such works. She clearly doesn't understand how copyright works at all. Acting like a child because you're jealous of a bigger creator is just ridiculous. It sounds like all she's done is do the opposite of what she wanted, and lost subscribers because she was too childish to handle this like an adult 🤷‍♀️

This seems a nasty way to deal with a problem. You do such great work which is always respectful and balanced. My day is always cheered by your content. You must feel anxious about this. I’m so sad this happened to you. Keep building a safe, kind community Mr Star.

For months I have had a feeling this person wasn't the nicest. I've seen many praising her designs on Reddit and asking simple questions only to be told they could go watch her videos if they want answers. I see there are a few posts on her latest Reddit stating their disappointment in her (without mentioning Mr Star so we don't get him in trouble). I hope she gets a taste of her own medicine.

I didn't follow her, but I saw a lot of her stuff on reddit. I looked at her post history, and she actually asked people to make music for her channel for exposure rather than pay someone for their work. Awfully hypocritical that she acts this way when MrStarInSky gave her tons of free exposure.

No one needs to go after her but I think unfollowing her is fair. I don’t want to support someone who acts that way.

I was so disappointed to find out who she was. Behaving like that really speaks to a person's character. I will be unfollowing her because who needs those bad vibes. That's just a level of petty I can't deal with. If ambition drives you to act this way, maybe she needs to reevaluate herself.

The problem is the youtube copyright policies. It is unacceptable, that anyone can give a strike on any channel and endanger the livelihood of someone with a few clicks. It's desperately needs a change with better control options and especially quick and safe way for the creator to clear the case. Fair use is unfortunately so dangerous.

I'm so sorry that someone (who I once admired as a content creator) has sent you a copyright strike even though you fully acknowledged them in your video with a clear indication of their username which would allow anyone to Google them. Instead they've put a black cloud over the DDV community, in the hopes of piggy backing off of your hard work and community for a bit of extra clout. As a small time content creator myself if I ever saw my work in one of your videos I would be ecstatic and thrilled. Keep doing what you do because it's always the honest ones that come out on top during tough times. 💜

Seemed like only a select few were really making any posts. And it had very strict rules on the formatting of everything. I am very much for giving credit where credit is due, but it seemed a bit excessive and like only a few could have all the original ideas. This is just my personal opinion and the vibe I got, no one was mean to me or anything, but it made me uncomfortable so I left.

I have been watching your videos for quite a long time, and I have to say that you have always done a great job mentioning creators by name when showing off their work. I was subscribed to her for a very short time, probably a month or even less. Something didn't quite click with me and i couldn't put my finger on it but hearing this news and so many people saying their personal experience with her has confirmed what my intuition already knew. That's disheartening and I'm sorry you had to deal with this especially from another content creator :( i love the ddlv community because of how positive the community is but hearing this news makes me kind of sad. Honestly feel so bad about this. I certainly won’t harass anyone following your story. You were very classy in how you shared it. And I think it is important to share! Not everyone knows or understands how these media platforms work, how copyright works, etc. So I appreciate you sharing this information! Unfortunately this person really played a dirty hand. What I don’t understand is why YT would automatically issue the strike without investigating “why” and “what” the complaint was about. It seems absurd to me to get a strike for sharing a Reddit review….as you already stated. I’m sorry this happened to you but I’m not really surprised unfortunately. She reported me to pintrest for copyright, I have a folder of ddv inspo pictures and I had saved a few of her pictures there. I never claimed they were my work! I don’t understand how she can complain about someone complimenting her work.

I'm so sorry that happened to you, Mr. StarInSky! She proved that she isn't a part of this loving, supportive and positive community! That is really a dirty thing to do to someone because you gave them a compliment! I had the same happen to me when a subscriber created a parody intro music for me. I thought it quite funny that the Devs said "Objects APPEARING Invisible"! I am over the cupcake quest. The game seems to be more and more about "buy everything at all costs" rather than fun quests. I just don't think the popcorn buckets are worth the time it takes and I've only found a handful of red buttons and not a single blue button.

I was a little taken aback when I saw what happened with your video and I found out it was a copyright strike and not a copyright claim which is what I thought it was at first when I clicked the video on Wednesday since I had it open on a tab but was unable to see it. I happened to see that she was streaming live that day and she did mention the incident though not your name. It seemed from what she was saying on the live stream she took issue with her post being used on someone else's video monetarily, which is so odd because when she shares her builds and content it will be in MANY others platforms on tiktok, instagram, etc with other content creators also running their own channel monetarily. I didn't see Tuesday's reddit review video but I do know from watching your content you always give credit, show the proper creators with their names on reddit and have never claimed anything that wasn't your own work. What is odd is the claim is for lack of credit when she herself is saying it's for another reason entirely and that she has acknowledged she was mentioned. In all honesty if she doesn't wish to be perceived at all on the internet it's best she doesn't post anything at all and save herself the headache..

I don't comment often but i have been watching your videos for a long time. It is such a terrible action that this creator took against you, especially since all you ever do is spread positivity. Every thing you talk about, from dreamsnap submissions to builds, to reddit reviews...you do it in such a nice, respectful way, so for this girl to say you need to learn to respect other creators is INSANE.

I think a verbal mention with their name on the screen should be good enough. If you need to find every single link to every single content creator It would take too much time to make these videos. I personally wouldn't expect anything more than that. So sorry this happened to you ❤

Honestly, this whole situation is just sad, it indeed could've been easily resolved in a different way. Abusing the copyright strike system like this has been an issue on KZread for a very long time and is simply disrespectful. Literally no one 'wins' by doing this. Legally she has no leg to stand on and from the information you shared her reaction sounds hypocritical. "There's no such thing as bad publicity", but in this case there is. Thank you for adressing it and I truly hope this will be the end of it after the 90 days are over 💙

He wants to appeal the strike, but in order to do so, he has to put in his full name and address, among other personal info. Because of that, he's not comfortable with doing that.

When creators depend on this youtube job for their livelihood, it is a real travesty to be hit with one of these copyright strikes unless they truly do something wrong that hurts someone else. This is a ridiculous injustice. I hope this creator reads all these comments and realizes they made a mistake and rescinds this.

When a "cozy," soft-spoken, "everything is so peaceful and magical in my videos" gamer takes their mask off and shows their true colors. 🙄 It would make my day if mrStarInSky or any other big DDV creator complimented my build in a video. I've used her videos as inspiration for my valley in the past but won't be anymore. Ironically, she wanted more attention, but her actions will be getting her less. Please fight that strike! She doesn't own the copyright anyway. And even if she did, you would be completely within fair use.

You can't own copyright on another companies Intellectual Property (ie Disney and Gameloft Disney Dreamlight Valley in this case) I'm so baffled this has happened. It's bizarre. I'd definitely appeal and explain this.

So sorry you’ve had to deal with this. I’ve heard her say some things in her videos that I didn’t like and gave me the ick, but I never thought she’d do something like this, it’s just petty and mean, her ego is beyond belief. I’ve unsubscribed from her, I was already thinking of doing it after I heard her go off about it during one of her livestreams when someone mentioned they’d seen her Bridgerton build on your video.
