    Lizzy demonstrates that your way of doing a task depends on how you are taught. There are always several ways to accomplish any job. Lizzy was trained to drive off-road on stuck vehicles of all types. This is clear if you watch every video with her in it. From the one where Matt introduces her to this one. That is why she approached Horseshoe Falls the way she did; super slow and utterly steady. Her way turned out to be the best. Lizzy did not realize that the driver's front wheel was off the ground because that was the case in a lot of the stuck vehicles she has driven. In the past videos. Lizzy is shown climbing into multiple types of vehicles that are at a frightening angle, and near their tipping point. So she has learned how to drive out of that position. Those "training" videos had a rope attached to provide the needed "traction". In this video the needed traction came from the vehicle itself.

    Absolute joy to see Ed talk about days past and adventures had. You know . . . the digital age is letting so many of us see and share these kinds of recollections, and preserve them. Fifty years ago there was undoubtedly some guy with similar memories and they were just lost and forgotten. Now, not only can a million subscribers listen to this . . . but so can future generations. And as long as I'm here -- watching Lizzy (apparently) calmly steer Mischief Maker up the Falls was amazing. What a trouper!

    Knowing she just told us her trust in horses is way way more … Not in those slippery rocks would her horse do that feat! Dangerous beyond even thinking about. Todays horses are urbanized pets as compared to actual trained and bred cow herding ranch hand critters. Of course I mean used to weapons fire as well as thunder so on.

Hollie's the bomb helping everyone thru the obstacles AND letting others have a go in Mischief Maker! And for the rest of the MORR Crew, ya'll ROCK🤩🤩🤩 Awesome that Ed's little bike will get the love it deserves... that will be episodes to look forward to!!! • @jhettish

    Lizzy seems to realize that maximum traction occurs just before a tire breaks lose and starts spinning. Works the same way for braking also. Locking up brakes by sitting on the brake pedal actually makes the locked up wheel go faster rather than actually stopping a vehicle. That's how a bicycle or motorcycle back end swings around in an effort to try to catch the front wheel. Smart young lady.

    Can you explain what you mean by " Locking up brakes by sitting on the brake pedal actually makes the locked up wheel go faster" If the wheel is locked up how is it spinning at all? Obviously I understand that you will stop faster with strong braking that is slowing the wheels but not locking them up but I don't understand how a locked wheel would "go faster"

    You guys are always trying something new!! Love it!! I don't know much about differentials but I thought when you welded the gear to be always locked you'd have trouble with steering around a corner or curve with one wheel not being able to go faster than the other. Maybe going forward one wheel can be pushed faster than the other?? Anyway YOU know what you're doing and that's good enough for me!! LOL!! Love watching you all having fun!!

  • @KJMcLaws

    @KJMcLaws

    Жыл бұрын

    I think they said they put a disconnect. So the diff is locked but one side is disconnected, getting no power (and can spin freely). Then when they want to go off-road, they engage the diff with the transfer case and then connect the last axle making it hard to steer on pavement but will do just fine off-road.
