This is Noel Gallagher's favourite songwriter. This is a poor representation tho. There's only two band members there. The in house band are playing the rest Lee mavers is a fucking legendary songwriter from Liverpool. The original recording from 1988 is the definitive version. Check it out. It's rich and beautiful

The La's are a Liverpool band. "La" is a greeting, shortened from "lad". In Liverpool we say "all right, la", when meeting a male friend. Pronounced with a long "a" sound. Laaa.

Being from Maryland too, I'm glad you lot are getting into this music that's helped define my life. Also, I too worked at Harris Teeter. Loved the people, hated the company. Before you even started listening, I thought "You've gotta have heard this", yeah they will certainly live off the royalties from films, without a doubt!! Made a brilliant album and then disappeared, Lee Mavers the lead singer got on heroin (this song is rumoured to be about the drug-listen to the lyrics but Mavers got on it afterwards) and and is now living a quiet life in Liverpool, off the drugs. John Power, as commented in the comments, his band, Cast were great. The La's may have had those guitars as they, same as The Beatles are from Liverpool, also.

There's a whole team of rock bands from Liverpool who all worked together and flowed into each other. Cast, The Coral, The Las. I feel like there's another that I've forgotten. Not Beatles revivalists, just hard players and exacting musicianship.

Another great song about the "Golden Brown"💉 The Stranglers "Golden Brown", would be another great song for your reviewing list, speaking of said 🌞 Ye need to go listen to the full L.P. in your own time. The La's had only One Official Album Release. Ye'd probably be better off reacting to official videos where possible. This version doesn't really do alot of justice compared to a studio recorded version. ☘🇮🇪☘ .
