About this channel - 'Supreme Yogi':
The word "Supreme" represent the 'highest Truth' (our inner Self or God or the Source of creation) that we all are seeking, and the word "Yogi" means one who attained union with that 'highest Truth' through years of spiritual discipline and struggle. Since this channel is all about the teachings of such realized yogis, it is apt to use the name "Supreme Yogi".
Many of these great yogis lived in a time and place where there were no facilities available to record their teachings other than in written form. These valuable teachings are available only in book sources and hence this channel is a humble attempt to spread some of these hidden teachings to modern seekers who're searching for spiritual guidance.

Now some of you might have experienced spiritual longing spontaneously and yet at the same time feel certain cravings for sense enjoyments. This simply means that your present class of evolution is 'Brahmin', but deep rooted vasanas (mental impressions) from past lives are still lurking in your unconscious mind. Yogis says that such vasanas can be eradicated through persistent practice of spiritual discipline.

If you allow yourself to, anyone can blossom into a Brahmin. Do not classify yourself as a Sudra, a businessman, an artist, a success, a failure, this, that or anything else. Your potential is limited only by you and when you draw a conclusion about yourself, that is where you set your limit.

Yoganandaji explains that belonging to one of these states of evolution is not based on heredity, but each individual soul's journey. So the caste system the way it has been understood in India has been very wrong and in fact has been the cause of bad karma for Indians.

Prank You I see, I asked because when I was younger I was tempted with creating a similar channel. I know very well the illusory benefits: lots of people following, the chance of becoming “famous”, increased social skills, the chance of getting to interact with pretty girls and the possibility of earning a good income while having lots of fun; I get it. But I know also that creating and maintaining a channel is not an easy and effortless task because I abandoned soon the project the moment I felt a sense of futility in all the endeavors related to that desire. According to the given definitions, I fit into the Kshatriya caste with many Vaisyas tendencies and also many Brahmin aspirations. That’s why I believe that someone pertaining to the Brahmin caste would not invest a lot of effort in such a similar task. Wish you wisdom and peace in your path brother.

I consider myself as Vaisya in that I get things done. But not in the sense of personal gain, but in solving problems, mostly the problems or challenges of others. Success is its only reward. I don't do it for money. I never want money in payment for what I've done for others. Maybe I should expect payment, but that wouldn't feel right. I should not profit from solving someone else's problem. For several years, I've entered into the Kshatriya, and pondered the true meaning of my existence. Happiness and fulfillment can never be found in material things or pleasures. Maybe I'm Brahmin since I'm into spirituality. I do that by close attention to my thoughts, because there are rewards as well as consequences from our thoughts. Our thoughts are energy waves which do interact with others. Our thoughts also influence or even determine what chemicals are released by the brain. And we become what we think. Perhaps, all of us exhibit all 4 of these classes, depending on the needs and circumstances.

It’s an experiential belief. There are exceptions but western culture does not prioritize the cultivation of the talents of the Brahman. Most of us spend our lives living in a discrepancy of who we are and who we are told we are supposed to be. Especially when this occurs within the family unit. It can take a lifetime to undo the conditioning.

I think that this explanation is fundamentally accurate but, although we may be aware of each higher state of consciousness that's possible - once we reach the highest possible achievement, awareness itself becomes unnecessary. You simply are...purity, and nothing else attracts your attention. As we are 'climbing' our attention naturally, has less interest in less subtle states of mind. Things and thoughts become naturally organized. If we are still manually deciding which way to turn after claiming we've achieved the highest state of consciousness - we've been following the wrong road map. The Bhagavad Gita is the subject of many, many interpretations. The information provided therein, provides all there is to know yet most of us are aware that India and the Hindu faith, have been interpreting these states of consciousness for a long time, yet people still disagree on what they actually mean, and how to get there...

Just this life (assuming there really were more before it) seems like it will have been transitioning through the latter 3. This is a far, far more resonant and rational interpretation of the varnas. Like everything, the selfish mind misinterprets everything for its own ends and the varnas are no exception... to say nothing of religion in general. I won't say it misinterprets spirituality because it can't handle that but instead twist and bastardize the conceptual expression thereof.

Would the following work: - japa, e.g. om namah shivah - meditation: focus on breath and meditation on compassion "om mani padme hum" Any others? Ive quit alcohol for the last 7 weeks and trying to discipline myself on many other things. A lot of my friends focus on the senses unfortunately which makes it difficult. After knowing this u have to tell urself what you gained and lost for giving in to these desires. I m sure u already have the answer. Have sheer willpower and strong control on what you absorb from your senses in daily life. BTW it is my way of handling this and you can find your own too. With this and others I m going on with my celibate life 😇

Hahaha. I've had the exact same situation where more awareness has led to a falling away of a lot of desires and illusions in my life which otherwise kept me going before. The whole purpose of this awakening is to understand the cyclical nature of life and experiences and go beyond it. Be grateful that a lot of these mental illusions fell away, because most other people aren't lucky enough to get a higher and clearer perspective on life in general. This is why everyone goes through life suffering their own ignorance never knowing that all it takes to change your path/course is that one tiny change of perspective (which only comes to the rarest of people).

At some point we are not satisfied by that and seek for more. We come far, let's say Kshatriya. At some point we give up, don't see any point in it and fall back - Vaisya. Or does it only go up?

I fit best in the bramin class, but it's too simplistic. Probably because the ones who thought this up were ancient humans. There should be more classes. Six at least. It always gets annoying when people think ancient people fingered everything out so no need to think. Times have changed so much, not even the ancients would still call this correct if they were alive today.

God created everybody equal...it's people on land created castes and classes. We are born according to our Karmas and desires...Shudras can become brahmin and vice versa by dedication and discipline...or misdeeds.

This is true. Take one glance at Bhagavad Gita, and it said clearly, “The different responsibilities found in the social order-distinguishing brahmin, kshatriya, vaishya, and shudra-have their roots in this conditioning. The responsibilities to which brahmins are born, *based on their nature* , are self-control, tranquility, purity of heart, patience, humility, learning, austerity, wisdom, and faith. The qualities of kshatriyas, *based on their nature* , are courage, strength, fortitude, dexterity, generosity, leadership, and the firm resolve never to retreat from battle. The occupations suitable for a vaishya are agriculture, dairying, and trade. The proper work of a shudra is service.”

Dark age of spirituality. There's no hierarchy or divisions on the One, so how could be classes or right way of living? Sorry Yogananda, you are talking to the dreamers here. Not to the One.

In this world, shudras now make more money than brahmins in many cases, and are more respected. For example, in Sweden, an electrician who has no contemplating thinking (some electricians might be brahmins too though......) who is handsome and who sleeps with >100 girls has more respect in society compared to a yogi who is a recluse and can't do any jobs that pay well because their "skill" is not in demand in today's society. How sad.

this is nothing more than 100's of years of human thinking and surmising existence on the other side. it is immediately obvious this type of spiritual reasoning always creates a class system that becomes impenetrable over time thus putting the Bhramin class at the very top of a very rigid class system and the common people "untouchables" at the very bottom. a class that is less than a slave and are mistreated in ways that are appalling. the children herded around like livestock and abused in ways that are shocking and this is passed off as a compassionate religion.

Mahatmas Gandhi there will always be a natural order of people and the alternatives simply don’t bare thinking about. ... atheistic slave systems where everyone is the worker apart a few. Stopping natural abilities and progression of talent also. The Gita explains that each caste can know the Devine, sudras are not simply slaves and can progress if they have abilities. I agree though, at some point in the past the honouring of each person despite their standing failed, greed and corruption took place.
