Jason sometimes it helps to talk about things and dogs 🐕 are a huge part of our lives. We lost our 14 year old rescue staffy a year ago and we still have many memories to share and remember. I remember watching your "Aussie slang" video. You had Macy on your lap and she was snapping at bugs. Every time, you'd ask her "Did you get it?". I laughed out loud every time. I know you're getting A LOT of advice, so I'll add my two cents... It hurts to lose a four legged family member, there's no reason to apologize for being emotional. What has helped me is to remember the fun times. Remember the silly shit that made you laugh. Nothing will ever cure the pain but pleasant memories seem to make it a bit more bearable. No worries about taking a break. We'll all be here when you get your smile back.

Lot's of love and prayers go out to Macy. I remember on one of your videos, you told a story of Macy and her loud gassy occurrence. That made me laugh so hard and reminded me of that happening to one of our pups. Come back when you're ready. We'll be here when you get back.

Always hard losing a friend...my best advice is something you won't want to hear.....the best way to heal is to get a new friend...there are always doggies that are homeless and have no one or never had anyone to love them....The best way to honor and get over a lost friend is to adopt a new friend that desperately needs your love. Just like when you added another baby to your family there was always more love to go around....well the same is true for pets. Just because someone else comes to live with you doesn't diminish the love you had for the predecessor....I am certain if Macy could speak that she would feel better knowing you would find another friend so they could take her job and take care of you.

I have only ever had 2 cats in my life one I had for 18 years he was my best friend, when he passed i vowed never to have another one....years later another cat came into my life at a time l was really down , she saved me and even though she was only with me for 6 years we loved each other unconditionally...since then I have never had another pet. I had a pug named Miko, she died of complications due to heat stroke. It's been about 10 years now and I still miss her greatly. I cried for days and still cry for her now and then. Jason - a dog is known as a man's best friend for a reason. Besides the fact that they lick things we wouldn't touch with three pairs of gloves on, we still let them keep giving us kisses. I am fortunate enough to have many dogs I feel are great friends, I own a business delivering packages and get to see many everyday, and the one all my drivers know I claim is mine, is not doing so great. The homeowner saw me today before I saw Gus just to warn me, as she knows he is my favorite. I pulled down the road after spending some extra time with ol' Gus, and I realized no person that I feel knows me personally on my route would I feel I missed if they moved, I sold my business, or they passed, but a dog like Gus that just seemed to always know who I was, is a different story. I know if I take that feeling times 1000 it doesn't equal your and Macy's bond.

I lost my two oldest dogs at 13 years old each last year within 6 months of each other. I still have 2 of their pups that are 12 and 11 years old.
