Gotta take time to say this. You are the very best at one thing on this channel. You are sincere and you actually enjoy helping people. No one else on the net does what you do the way you do it. I can tell it comes from your heart. The time it takes for you to help others, with all the links you create and all the intricate details you project on this channel is truly amazing. I appreciate you. Easily one of the top three or four guys on the net. thanks for all the help you give, and I know you started with very little and you have never lost sight of how that was. This is a great channel for guys that have very little money to get to their goals, with your help and encouragement, they have no excuse to quit or give up. Thanks

Tip from a Home Depot employee: I've had many of those work benches come off the truck over the years and most of them had issues with the legs popping out of the storage clips on the back when banged around, sometimes snapping off the clips. Fortunately HD takes anything back

For future reference to anyone who is using this table. I rarely use this for anything besides working on my AR. That center plate can be removed so you can easily just attach your vise to plywood without needing to hollow out the underside. It will drop right down through the center.

I wish I knew about the kit sooner, but I have now purchased all the parts to build the work station cause I also have no space in garage, would do everything I could at dinner table and use a buddies vise. Now I have the work station that tucks away in the garage. Now I can do everything thing at home. Thank you so much for all the info.

Can I make a suggestion on mounting your vise to the plywood? Use threaded T-nuts. You simply drill a straight hole through then hammer in the T-nut from below and buy regular hex bolts and washers and screw it down from the top. As you tighten down the bolts hard it will pull the T-nuts flush to the underside of your plywood. You just need to purchase the correct length hex bolts so they don’t protrude from the bottom of the board but that’s easy to find and you can use washers to fine tune the length. Way cleaner than your method with the wing nuts and super easy to take the vise on and off if needed even with the board mounted to the bench.

Not to sound mean but you should really take a course in Gunsmithing if you are gonna do videos like this, A lot of your techniques are totally wrong and misleading, Also when you mount a vise, the bolt heads are supposed to be facing up on the vice then use some large fender washers to crank it down and give the vise stability or even put some pieces of the steel connecting the two front and two back bolts so it distributes the force of the vice evenly given your using a plastic bench

Watch that torque wrench carefully or check it regularly for calibration but there are better ones. I bought myself a torque screwdriver and love it. Like you I’d tighten things down and call it good ,no more. Love your setup

Wow you know i saw this kit online a little while ago and I was thinking about buying it but I didn’t and now I’m regretting it lol. At the time I didn’t realize it had all of the little things and details you mentioned. I’ll definitely have to pick one up before my next build, seems super fricken handy like it’d make my life a lot easier. Thanks for sharing this!

I think you did ok. Imo this kit is overpriced and most tools will be used up quick requiring replacement.

@@glmorten Hmm you think so? I’ve never really used any of their tools before so I have no idea what the quality or anything is like.

I bought one of these Real Avid sets and have even used some of the tools to assemble a number of builds. I recommend learning which tools you need and compiling them a la carte from high quality manufacturers. Many of the plastic Real Avid tools have already broken in only a few builds. Also, literally the first operation shown in the instruction manual highly recommends using go/no go headspace gauges. These gauges are NOT included in this set, but again, were central to the very first instruction shown. Save money and buy high quality US-made tools based on what you actually need to complete your build.

I got it and started and build with it and the only thing that they could have added is a set of headspace gauges. Definitely not necessary for them to add because they're easy to get, but would be cool to have them in there.
