Had an ‘86 and ‘87. Hand massaged engines by Paul Turner himself. Those machines were what dreams are made of no doubt (unless you were a neighbor or patrol officer lol)

That thisng is bad ass. My buddy just redid a 1987 250r and made it a 310. These things are nasty
Compression ratio on that thing has got to be insane. Never heard a two stroke idle that smooth at such low rpm. Pro tip kids, these old two strokes weren’t built to idle much. Once warm, if you can’t ride it like a bat out of hell, go four stroke.

I have almost got my 1996 R , where I want it. It needs mainly trick parts now , such as shocks and billet upgrades , etc. but it’s not far off from the quality of the quad in the video . I’d say over the next 2 years , it will rival the video.

i sold my 1982 CR480R IN the beginning of 1986 for that very quad nerfed up just like that off Doug Danger up on rt20 in Mass. that quad was fast,, the suspension was insane, and it was light really light . it weighed just a little more than me at that time 17yrs. old 6'3" 275 i remember like it was yesterday.. DAM THATS A GREAT LOOKING QUAD....
That idle gets any lower it will be a 1 stroke instead of a 2 stroke 😂
