I'm so happy alot of the comments are about not letting your kid use a screen while driving. My 3 and 5 year old kids can sit on a 4 hour drive. No need, just play games (find a certain color car, find letters on signs, etc) and look out the window.

My grandson didn't utter a word for the first five years of his life. Despite numerous attempts with a speech therapist, there was no progress. Then, one therapist recommended using an iPad as a learning tool, and within six months, he was speaking. Now, he's an unstoppable talker. I'm on my way to see him receive his Honor Roll certificate again. He taught himself basketball through KZread and now competes on a travel basketball team.

as a technology nerd myself, I request, please stop making kids depend on tech from such early agr. let their brains work amd develop and imagine stuff. you are killing their creativity. Just cause "IT IS EASY" for you that they keep quite and not talk during drive, doesn't mean you need to do this to possibly hamper their development. If having kids is too much for you, then don't. Toddlers are exposed to constant TV and KZread and stuff, preteens are on social media and have mobiles, like wtf is happening ? Kids should only be given phones at after 14-15 and that too with Parental Guidance and only after 18 should they be given complete control. Wtf is happening. This is basic common sense.

Not only the fun on long trips, but also good for eyesight. Staring at the same focal point for the vast majority of your day will cause your eye muscles to atrophy and you will need glasses a hell of a lot sooner. Keeping your focal distance varying between distances is good exercise for your eyes.

My niece is already 3 years old but is still not able to form words. From 1-3 years old she's used to be able to watch cocomelon videos anytime she wants. When we eat at restaurants outside she throws a tantrum and cries loudly when she's not able to watch. She was brought to a specialist and was advised to remove all screen time and after 8 months she's able to say complete words and now calls me aunt. Parents, I know it's hard to raise children, but that hardship is part of the experience, you may feel tired now but please do your children a favor and don't let them grow up glued to a screen.

Now, he's an unstoppable talker. I'm on my way to see him receive his Honor Roll certificate again. He taught himself basketball through KZread and now competes on a travel basketball team.

I have a cousin, 5 years old. He was raised by youtube while his mother also constantly watching youtube / tiktok. He wasn't able to speak coherently at his age and used to repeatedly say "what's this?" as his only way to communicate. Even when we explained "this is a dinosaur" he would only answer back with "what's this?" even tho what he meant was so much broader such as how does it sound or can I get the dinosaur shaped jelly. He sometimes went furious since he couldn't relay what he actually want to say. So my mom and my aunt (not his mom tho like other aunt) brought him to psychiatrist. They said that his body is 5 years old but he was 2 years old mentally not because he was born that way but because of the way he was raised. My aunt decided to take custody of him and his sister and took them to live away from their mother. It was maybe like 1 or 2 years ago. I don't know the nomenclature but under my aunt's care, my cousin went to I don't know psychiatrist or person who helps him to get his speech ability every month. Now he can speak like normal child, but his mental is still left behind by 1 year. So hopefully he'll improve little by little. But only in the span of 2 years, he is so much more different than the time when I first met him. He's no longer asking for youtube and can read dinosaur book by himself.

Maybe you could bring a book and read a while before feeling dizzy. Stop acting as if tecnology ruined everything because I know very well people complain about everything 😂 At least she cares, that is all I have to say about this, she cares enough to provide entretainment to her kids so they enjoy the trip. I like to hear audiobooks, sleep for a while and look trough the window, look at a movie and listen music on a car trip, they are very very long and is okay to get the best out of them.
