That's what I love about yours and Dale's videos - no bullshit, no flashy slow-mo's or showy editing and no annoying music. Just straight POV riding on some awesome trails with a little thoughtful or playful commentary which doesn't overly distract. Keep up the good stuff Dave, and respect to the trail builder - fantastic work!

Wicked riding Dave! Crippler seems like a trail I'd do, very slowly ✌ How is the Spartan holding up for you? How would you compare it to your Norco and the Commencal previously ridden?

Nice video - a little fish eye type compared to previous but here at least the elevation is visible. But that is just my personal opinion of course. =)

Dave when did you start filming in 5K? I remember on videos a couple years or so ago you said you ran like 1080 or 2.7k because it works better in lower light, when and why did you make the switch?

it looks to be maybe sram for the front brake and Shimano in the rear and the reasoning for this would be because Shimano have more controllable braking and its more smooth and sram is a lot stronger and a lot more stopping power

I crashed on the Spartan a few weeks ago and broke the lever blade on my Shimano XT brake. I've been trying a set of TRP brakes on my E-Troy and decided I would swap the front brake over to my Spartan as a temporary replacement. While XT brakes have loads of power, they have little modulation and a very on/off feel. I'll do a mid season bike check soon and explain it in more detail then.

Does anyone know which pedals he uses?

That's a trail that never ate meat, there's ribs and bones showing everywhere. 😆

Plan to be that way in mid august. On your rides do you get shuttle up or pedal up then shred down ? Seams like so much is decending.

From ProBike3D. It’s a raised chin mount, but you can just email them and ask for the one I’m using

The trails in the WEST always look crazy fun... BUT they always seemed to be built in a junk yard... Why is it always a complete mess just outside the track ? Why no clean up and try to make it look good? :)

I hate the camera. The distortion makes it hard to understand what's actually happening, unless tunnel visioned on the center of the screen where it's still more or less realistic. I hope you don't continue to compromise the quality of your videos for a sponsor in the future.

I'm honestly amazed how a 4K video can look like it's barely 720p... and at crap FPS no less.. honestly this Insta360 is such a pile of shit, i'm surprised they'd out themselves like this. What is this bitrate? is it recorded at like 4mbps? Can't wait to go back to proper 60fps but somehow higher quality 1080P lmao...
