May not be a true low profile card but MSI made a 4060Ti/4070 Ti X Slim version which is more smaller than the typical/regular 4060 Ti/4070Ti's out there. I actually made a small Lian Li Q58 build with the MSI 4060Ti(16GB) White X Slim, i7-13700k, 32GB RAM and 1 1TB m.2(OS) and a 6TB 2.5 WD SSD(for the games + misc). Forgot to add that I game at 1080p@144fps at high settings in all games and am completely happy with my little powerhouse lunchbox lol

Awesome 16-core workstation! We could only dream of this computing power growing up with old clunky desktops. I can see these compact systems taking over as 'do all' daily drivers. Especially 6 and 8 core CPU's. Use good cooling and they'll boost speeds all day. Good hands on review 👍

This is definitely the type of build I'd go for today-because it is legitimately tiny....but have no need to upgrade yet. My last pc build from a few years ago was a sff, but still huge and heavy though smaller than a mid-tower. They need to keep shrinking gpu's and power supplies so we can have super small pc's. Because I'm a renter, we have to move around every few years, so lugging these boxes around is a pain in the azz and I don't trust movers not to damage these delicate and costly machines-so I move them myself. Something this small would be ideal because you can throw it and all your cables and stuff in a backpack.

I wish they would release a 4070lp. Nice to see more options with FlexATX coming out, the PSU was typically the limiting factor in ITX builds, even SFX is limiting if you want to go with half-height cards. Still wish these case manufacturers would stop cheating around the expansion card brackets. Just extend the case rearward and make them internal. Who cares about the .2L penalty? If the bracket is sticking out it's effectively that much bigger already.

Single 8-pin mounted on the end close to the motherboard (same orientation as current 4060lp, just shimmied over so the cable is even more out of the way). I'd want such a PCB not just for LP cards, but also regular ones for more efficient cooling.

nice if I was going to use this I would probably put it on some feat so those gpu fans can get good pull from the bottom. 4 little bolts with rubber caps could probably just lock into to the corner vent holes. Also its just speculation but if you then reversed the cpu fan so it blows out and give it a noctua shroud so it exhausts straight out the case it would mean more airflow into the gpu as well. It seemed to perform well enough without it but I can't help but feel you were starving that thing if you benchmarked it in the same position it was shown.

Normally I know the PC gaming community is very anti-frame generation, but this is a perfect example of how the right use case can make the feature shine. This is a teeny tiny gaming PC that was just able to run a new AAA title at 1440p ~90fps. That's actually incredible and though they can be very anti-consumer with their pricing, Nvidia definitely deserves some praise for that one.

I don't think they use liquid metal for the CPU. I've seen people disassemble it on the Minisforum discord and there was a plaster-like thermal "paste" used that was hard and brittle. I haven't checked my BD790i yet, though.

the BD790i seems to suffer from the problem that the BIOS doesn't save the setting after being disconnected from power. Does your unit have the same issue?

This is probably THE BEST "mini" PC I've ever seen. The first one thar doesn't feel gimped with too much tradeoff to fit things in. At least with the CPU. It's a perfectly capable CPU all around for most uses. However, the one lacking spot is the 4060. I think it's just not a capable enough GPU for most modern gaming. I think a 4060 ti is about the lowest viable gaming GPU. Building anything lower than that just seems kind of a waste to me.

I wonder how good that 4060 low profile is on 4k with games using full DLSS, probably will look so good and cannot tell compare to a high power one, if the game supports it
