First of all, "influencer" STILL isn't a real job. Second, when you're famous for no reason, you don't deserve to be famous. Third of all, the block is because of their ignorance on the literal holocaust happening right now and refusal to use their platforms and money to stand up against it. But also, ending crapitalism, because anyone with an IQ over 80 knows this entire system is bullshit. Lastly, nobody should ever be having parasocial relationships with "influencers" (that word is still so absurd it's funny), content creators, or even actual celebrities anyway. It's toxic and unhealthy. Go make real friends instead.

They're maintaining blacklists of people who haven't spoken out about their one issue. I'm for acknowledging that celebrities are wastes of space, but it risks having an ethic of digital mccarthyism. Then if they actually succeeded, they would have cowered the powerful into submission. Saying the 'right' thing from a position of cowardice, is preferred to disagreeing from a position of conviction. They'll take cowards espousing views they don't believe for propaganda purposes - not dissenters. It's has the vibe of extortion. I'm not on any of those sites. I despise celebrity as a concept. But I can't approve of the undercurrent.

Yeah her apology wasn’t great but at least she was honest straight from the get go, she also makes most of her money from her “millionaire bf” comedy skits and is honest about having money from being an ex-model while other celebrities are perfectly comfortable lying to you about doing horrible things and being charged with several crimes so I really don’t understand why people think she’s so out of touch when they are the ones giving celebrities the attention and becoming out of touch.

Essentially as if she is a mule but in a very non-conventional way. In the grocery stores alot of people will give 5$ to the orphanages or food banks. That's a HUGE number of the population *consistently* doing this on a day to day basis. So yes, if people made you rich and then you walk by some of those same folks on the street with you're nose up because you think you're high value or something. Them throwing trinkets doesn't mean much to us, especially when most homeless folks or people in dire need are helped by us regular folks... not celebrities or influences or corporations. People are out here helping other people ever day with no flowers.. if those same regular people who have nothing, give everything. Then why do those who have everything, give nothing? Not only do I not care if celebs stay silent on Ukraine, Israel, etc., I _WANT_ them to shut up. But they never do. That's largely why the glamour of old school Hollywood has worn off. Back in the day stars were like our version of royalty. We rarely saw or heard from them except occasionally on Johnny Carson or some such, and we were fascinated with them and imagining what their lives were like. That's why the show "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" was popular. People dreamed of becoming one of them. Now, however, we see and hear and read them constantly, and it turns out a large proportion of them are ass hats, if not downright depraved, and no one wants to be one of them. The cloak of glamour has been removed and we see the rot underneath.

As someone who considers myself a Hunger Games fan, this is... quite terrifying. The whole point of the Hunger Games is how the people in power were so, so corrupt. We might not be at the point of sending children to their deaths, we are getting closer each day. The Capital flaunts their power and riches. So do these celebs. Hayleyy Bayley? Others? Even when not trying to do so, they do. Sigh.. What has this world come to?

@@justineczarnobyl9987 the point is she's acting, as if her dress was free, when in reality someone had to pay her friend to make it, or even to buy the materials, it wasn't free. Only someone so little in touch with reality will say "I got this for free", no. Even the trip, hotels or whatever the sponsor gave her, was all paid with OUR money. When you buy something from X or Y company, and than company then sponsors someone, they're literally paying that person with YOUR money. So yeah, for this people to be like "Oh I got this for free" is so delusional.

Let’s not forget that the only reason this is a thing is because it’s easy. It’s way easier to lay in bed and block celebrities than to go out and actually do something meaningful for society. Also this whole thing is hipocritical. They’re all blocking every single person that went to the Gala but ignore the fact that the TikTok CEO also attended and TikTok itself sponsored the Gala with way more money that what the tickets and tables were. If they truly believed in their message he would also be in the list and they would uninstall TikTok, but of course they won’t do that. Yes you shouldn’t idolize celebrities but at the same time we shouldn’t pretend like this is a huge moral thing they’re doing either

Plus no one "acts" like they voted for Biden because those who did are not part of a cult like Trump's followers are. The fact that you're using a video about celebrities to talk about Trump's opposition just shows that you are one of the mindless sheep that follow Trump.
