That was a great video. I actually have one of these Harbor Freight pumps that I saw at the store as well and was surprised at the performance. I use it to transfer water from 5 gallon water bottles to fresh water tank on my RV. I'm going to get another one to put on my Inflatable boat as a bilge pump

Thank you.I honestly didn't think this pump was going to hold up as well as it has. Since i've made this video i've pumped over 100 gallons of gasoline on top of what I did in this video and it's still working great! That's a really good idea to use as a bilge pump.

You’re very welcome! It might work it might not depending on how long your suction line is. At the minimum if you could get a good siphon going the pump should do its job of maintaining it. So far my pump has worked great although a few others it seems are having mixed results.

I have a generator tank that has about two inches of fuel remaining. The pump is not drawing it out. Is the level of the fuel too low?
@reallifetested2605
4 ай бұрын
Yes, if you look at the base it just has a small motor with an impeller. That has to be fully submerged. On my generator to fully drain it I usually have to disconnect the fuel hose, drain it the rest of the way, then run it dry. Hope that was able to help a little!

Hey does this work for transferring old gas out of car ?
@reallifetested2605
Жыл бұрын
I don’t think this would work to good for that. You have to have the end of the pump submerged into the tank for it to pull the gasoline up through it. Even if you managed that by adding an extension hose I don’t believe the pump would have enough lift to be able to draw the gasoline out.

You think this thing can pull on a garden hose to start a siphon to empty a pool?
@reallifetested2605
9 ай бұрын
I would say no. It really doesn’t have enough power to lift much further than the length that it’s made. I will say that when we siphon our pool out for winter. (This is hard to explain in txt) but! If you put your hose completely in the water (while holding one end of course) let the hose fill completely with water. Put the end that you have in your hand under water until the bubbles stop coming out. Then put your thumb over it. You should be able to just pull the end out and it will self siphon. Don’t take your thumb off until it’s below the water level though or it won’t work. Hope that makes sense!
