Learn through play, experience and expression! Fabulous! Those who do not identify with the heritage of the nation will be deemed to be a shallow citizen of the nation! This changes will bring in deep rootedness in the nation’s heritage and culture! They otherwise grow up to be empty educated ‘coolies’ for others to prosper!

Comment is correct in that it's history that was kept alive as folk stories repeated by artists going village to village till Valmiki turns it into a poetic masterpiece , it already was poetry till today the tribal villages have cultural festivals where the poetic metre & words r not Valmiki Ramayan. Also if you are a scholar of Ramayan then you need to read up on facts that are not in the Valmiki Ramayan originally but where added later on. EG the Ravana stotram , the incident with shabri , Uttarakhand was not written by Valmiki , the role of Hanuman in Valmiki compared to Tulsidas ramcharitmanas. In Valmiki Ramayan Hanuman & his tribe are called vanars ( Forest dwellers) this corrupts later into Bandar ( monkey ). Scholars of Ramayan discuss these facts without blind acceptance. So as poetry one accepts all the shlokas that is bhakti , but Gyan is to ask the hard questions as a academic.

If people visit Europe other than UK, they would realise that everything in all those countries are in their own language and according to them why speak English or any other language when you have your own language. Here I see the love for their own language which is actually missing in India where the mindset of knowing English is intelligence. But glad that from past few years, it is changing and English is becoming just to communicate and not any intelligence associated.

If all the Indians working outside the country decide to come back, there will be severe unemployment in India. Also, people working outside also being back a lot knowledge and know-how. India has a large influence on other countries like US and UK, because of the large Indian Diaspora in those countries. So India is not hurting because people are working aborad. Knowing English or other languages makes one more communicative as multilingual people are more articulate and have better developed brains (it has been proven that being multilingual helps develop brain). If you look around, many of the CEOs in US are from India. That is because of their command of English. Also, Indian Diaspora remits over $130billion in foreign exchange to India and highest in the world. This is also because of English. Also, English is the one of the things that keeps diverse India united and people are able to move from one area to another as English has become a common language of communication amongst all the regions. Nothing prevents one from teaching Indian culture, background, history, values, etc., and still keep English as the main language of curriculum. I think, the people who want to do away with English are short sighted and does not understand global picture. In addition to English, students can be taught other languages like your mother language, Sanskrit, etc.

Very true. Being an Indian I felt so ashamed when I moved to Poland that I didnt know much about Indian history , my husband knew more than me. In Europe they teach thier own history so much in detail that every kid knows everything. They might not know history about India but they do learn a bit in all schools. In India, it is opposite. If the aruge point is that these kids would go abroad and they need to know their history, then in that case how many would go and moreover people who come here hardly want to know the history or try to mingle with the society. Most of them live with other Indians and make their own group. But the majority of the kids who live in India are deprived to know the history because of a few privileged who would travel abroad.

But all of that removed within one yr after Laloo came to power and later completely finished by popularity of CBSC NCERT . SO I PERSONALLY DON'T BLAME BRITISH IN THIS RESPECT, AS I HAVE WITNESSED IT ALL DONE BY OUR OWN SO CALLED GRASSROOT POLITICIANS... I hear similar story about UP, MP etc .

There are issues with the way students are taught.... Especially corporal punishment and other abuses of children. Rote memorization to some extent is good. One needs to have some basics memorized. But overall, Indians are successful when they go outside the country for higher education. So there are things that are good in Indian education system that should be preserved. It is not perfect, but there are good stuff and like they say, "don't throw out the baby with the bath water". Again, this is a secular state and Ramayan and Mahabhrat belongs in Sunday schools and temples. If you go there, why would we not teach Buddhism Sutras, or Jain Agams, or Parsi Zend Avesta, or Koran, etc. We will all be better off if we keep our religions in our homes and religious institutions. If not you are going to open a can worms. There are secular skills like meditation, yoga, physical fitness, maintaining good health, clean living, etc., that should be taught to the youth.

West studies illusion Hinduism studies existential reality it's studies the source of everything that's paramatma. This science is nothing like Gurukuls. Western science doesn't even equate to 0.000000000001% of it. Quantum Physics is study of Advaita which is the core principles of Hinduism. What you have to say about it. I can guarantee one thing they are copying everything but they will never copy enlightenment. Bcoz they can't reproduce the experience only Hindu Guru can do this.
