Yes, South Africans play with passion and are physically active. However, other teams are just as physically active as the South Africans. The Tongans and Samoans are good examples. The British Lions v Boks is usually a brutal, physical battle. No one holds back. All teams have very physical players.

The Springboks are South Africa's national team, and are arguably one of the top 2 teams in the world (The other team being the New Zealand 'All Blacks'), the Springboks having won the most World Cups ( 4, in 1995, 2007, 2019, and 2023) despite having played in two less World Cups than everyone else due to the country being banned from international sports. 5:51 This is a scrum, and in this scenario, the scrum was happening so enough to the try line that the Springboks were able to press the ball onto the ground and win a try through a scrum.

​@@JaemanEdwardsI checked the stats for world up 2019 and here are the try tallies for NZ 36 and SA 33. Two highest try scoring countries during the world cup by far. England third place with 22. Total points scored during the world cup SA 262 and NZ 250. The overall record is 40 to 62 games after that world cup which gives NZ a 58.49% win rate. The only side to beat NZ team more consistently than any other. The second closest is Australia where NZ beat them 70.06% of the time. The rest of the top sides are above 75% which includes Ireland and France. South Africa has never really been a great touring side since 1995 and I sincerely hope they will focus on that part from now on instead of primarily world cups. That being said South Africans hold the All Blacks in high regard and disregard the vocal minority online.

Theres club rugby , which are teams within south africa they have their own league, and some of our South African players play for clubs in Europe and come back to play for South Africa if its international games. E.g. The World cup, or just international friendlies ❤ ps. We just bagged our 4th world cup win last year, against our biggest rivals The All Black, who have 3 world cups wins. (Also SA & New Zealand(all blacks) are considered one of the biggest sports rivals in history of sports

The scrums equivalent to american football would be a lineup just before a hut, but instead of individuals pushing each other both teams are interlocked and have to push the other line of players away while the football is on the floor in between them. Mate, an average professional American football game lasts 3 hours and 12 minutes, but if you tally up the time when the ball is actually in play, the action amounts to a mere 11 minutes. 11 minutes! A rugby match is sometimes 1hour and 40 minutes long (including a 10 minute break at half time) but the ball is in play for AT LEAST 1hour 20 minutes. Comparing Rugby to American football is like comparing MMA fighting to building a snowman. The rules of Rugby and NFL are nothing alike, different games. From this developed the line of scrimmage in NFL, yes American Football derived directly from rugby! Think touchdown, in NFL you don’t have to but in rugby you still do.
