    The harmonies really add to the song. I think now, the harmonies are why I like the guitar work in Hotel California so much. This video was terrific and the song is beautiful.

    Basics of useful music theory in a 1/2h nutshell: Circle of 5th, CAGED system, different modes of the same key (A / F#), secondary dominants (C# driving back to A), harmonisation in thirds and the esssential chord tone targeting. So rich...: Some form of a guitar eve! Thanks for your work and Happy New Year Brian!

    Hi, Brian. Longtime Zombie Guitar member here. IMHO, this is one of the best tutorials you've filmed. A few reasons: it explains how the CAGE system works, and how the layers of notes and scales of a song come together synergistically. On the CAGE system: you clarified for me how it works. I've watched a number of videos on the CAGE system. IMHO, they left out a key idea: the shape of one's fingers on the fretboard for, say, a "D" major "cowboy" chord, can be shaped as a "G" major chord around the 9th fret -- but it's another, higher version of the "D" chord. It's about getting the guitar to voice the "D" chord. Presented as you do, it works for me. A "Eureka!" moment. Also, I was delighted to see that in the video, you present the fretboard in-action, so to speak, along with the other fretboard diagrams as you play, along with the animated Circle of Fifths. Would love to see you routinely do more song analysis like this, your songs and songs by other musicians. Best, RG.

    Awesome video. Loved how you pulled all the individual theory parts together into an actual song and explained all the individual theory parts along the way. Really brilliant presentation. Highlighting all those individual notes on the fretboard diagram must have been a chore.

    @@zombieguitar I really appreciate your reply. I have a Katana 50. I like it. The Tone Studio effects are good. It is convenient. In the past I had several pedals and a tube amp, but what a pain to manage the power and signal chain. I am thinking about upgrading the 50 to the Artist. I understand the speaker is better in the Artist. I'm curious to know if you have experience with the 50 or 100? Thanks again for the reply.

    Sir, is it necessary to play pentatonic solos according to chord progression. Eg. C Am F G progression. C shape, Am shape, F shape G shape pentatonic. Or will F and G fits in C, Am pentatonic?

  • @zombieguitar

    @zombieguitar

    5 ай бұрын

    Can you "switch pentatonics" where you play one pentatonic per chord? Yes, and you'll still remain in-key by doing that However I don't really like approach. I prefer to just think 1 scale and focus on chord tones instead!

  • @Thengbey

    @Thengbey

    Yes sir, I can switch pentatonic and can also play according to chord tone. But confusing whether playing only C major pentatonic up and downs fits the other chords for F and G Chords rhythm.
