Miyazaki spent decades studying human movement. I’m guessing that his mindset is “we take our ease of movement for granted, so it’s only fair that we put effort into depicting that movement accurately in animation.” So he sees the act of throwing a bunch of code into a computer to produce a struggling body and calling it good as an insult to the people who have these problems. I don’t know when this was filmed, but I think the closest example to this cgi in his work is the pig monster from Princess Mononoke (which used elements of cgi, he’s not a hand-drawn purist).

As a disabled person, I appreciate that he called it out. Disabled people are often used as the basis for "horror" in a lot of ways, from facial differences being labelled disfigurements and used as a source of horror in designs to movement disabilities being used to evoke horror as well. It's a huge problem and the outcome is that people often associate "horror tropes" with real conditions that real people have, and that unfortunately makes a lot of people treat us worse, whether they realise they're doing it or not. So I think Miyazaki understood this well, and got defensive out of a sense of respect for his disabled friend, who was disabled and moved in a way that many people ignorantly paint as "scary". But that's just my own opinion. Horror is often ableist, and I appreciate that someone in such a high position was willing to be suspicious of the potential ableism in depicting movement in a way that could potentially fall into the "disability as horror" trope, which hurts real people.

He said it's easily the most useful video he looked at for his article, but it pretty clearly teaches the viewer how to be _the aggressor_ in the bar fight. Every example Rutten gives he's always closing it by saying, "get outta the situation," and I'm pretty he really did mean before the cops show up.

The phonetically consistent english video 1:24:47 is quite similar to how the finnish rally english sounds if it tried even less, because in finnish every letter in a word is pronounced consistently. Only difference is the e and i sounds, and also lack of y as a vowel.

@@elviejodann6544 I've heard it said that Spanish is a bitch to learn to speak, but easy to read, while English is easy to speak but atrocious to read. Personally I'm glad I grew up with both just to avoid the annoyance. But I refuse to learn French, it's almost as bad as English.

You are partially wrong about the Leopardon suit. It was stolen... I want to say halfway through the series? They did manage to get a lot filmed, so they just made do by filming the monster's attacks and then splicing in old footage that matched the attack. This is also the reason why the fights all end the same way; since Sword Vigor was the only special move it got to use, it ended up with a 100% success rate that even bled into the Spider-Verse comics.

1:00. There's also Let the Right One In the series, which takes place in New York City, that's really good! The movie has been done many times. 1st it was the foreign film Let the Right One In, the the American version came out a couple of years later with the same name. Then the remake of that movie came out simply called Let Me In making it the third version of the same movie.

As a swede who is apathetic at best at our movie output I can vouch that "Let the Right One In/Låt Den Rätte Komma in" is legit a really good vampire movie, probably the best Swedish movie I have seen in over a decade. Hell the final scene in the movie is worth it alone, haven't seen the American remake so I can't say anything about it.

Actually, Stan really had no real power by the 90's when they started selling off all their movie rights. Although I'm sure there are alot of feet to lay the blame at, my personal target is always Ike Perlmutter, who saved Marvel by buying it, then proceeding to systematically ruin everything. Ike Perlmutter, who famously thought the Black Panther movie was a bad idea and fought against it.

Looking at the old spelling, "hiccough" makes me realize that at some point it probably WAS pronounced "hic-cuff" but between american dialect drift and mishearing, it became hiccup as we now know it, but the british legacy spelling remains.

It turns out that the Leopaldon suit wasn't destroyed or stolen, but actually repurposed into Daidenjin from 1980's Denshi Sentai Denjiman , and the repeated stock footage was simply done out of budgetary concerns. It was an era where Toei was making many of these shows all at once.

I'd recommend getting a dedicated DAC for your speakers instead of using windows volume knob as that lowers the bitrate significantly making it hard to make out sounds. if your speakers don't have a volume knob on their design than a DAC with a volume knob/remote control would easily solve this. I recommend looking at Apos for a well curated audio gear list.
