James they were being overplayed towards the end of last year…Saka was going down or off injured every game towards the end. Kudus/Diaby made so much sense in the summer for that reason. We also don’t have a single player in the squad that can do what Odegaard can

Who can replace Odegard...? Viera could be great, but with Odegard here we don't need him. Arteta has tried to fit him in to replace Saka but like Trossard doesn't replace Martinelli or the quality needed to take on defenders they don't have it. He looks like he has something creative to offer but, Odegard is special and irreplaceable. If he is fit, he would play every game. Unlucky for Viera.

Our game has become a lot more predictable, and it's evidenced by the fact that a large proportion of goals have come from set pieces. We're heavily skewed to the right - where Saka almost always goes in to either cross or shoot, or we overlap with White (pretty rarely) for a cross in. Martinelli spends most of the games never seeing the ball on time to take advantage of his strength (SPEED). By the time he gets the ball, there are already 2 defenders seating on him, and we criticize him for not being efficient. Our left side doesn't get the support. Most of the team is trying to force things on the right side so when we get counter-attacked we pretty much open on the left, and end up blaming Zinchenko for not being a master defender. But essentially you nullify the one-twos between Odegaard, Saka and White on the right side, and the threat we pose is set pieces. We have slightly improved but for the most part, a team with proper personal shan't be afraid of us.

Agree with the majority of your comment, but we are not expecting Zinchenko to be a master defender, we are expecting him to stop making basic defending mistakes every single game. We all knew he wasn’t a great defender when he joined from city, his attacking ability was his selling point

Arteta squad rotation has been extremely lacking, the players are physically and mentally drained because he hardly rotates his squad. 3 years in a row, the pattern is clear. If he doesnt learn this fast we will end in the same situation next season. Half your squad playing over 40 games is a big issue

Bring on Partey.. He'll unlock Odegaard and Saka. Partey passes like a 10 as well.

Turkish, players these days are fitter but the games today are at a way higher pace than previous years. They are running more, doing everything more etc. They are 100% fatigued but it's on the manager. It's so obvious they have run out of legs in the last 2 games. Laurie has failed to realise that the press conferences a manager are not that important man. Of course you call your players a "beast", he's giving them confidence.

When the CL was two group stages you played 12 games compared with 8 to make it to the quarter final The number of games has decreased. The real issue is City demand such high standards in the league because of their squad, Liverpool and Arsenal end up burning their best eleven out

Seeing as for the last month or so I started making alterations to my predicted starting XI's that included swapping out Saka for Jesus, Jorginho for Partey and even Rice for Smith-Rowe along with also having wanted Vieira to get some game time from the bench in order to dispel the myth that we can't have him and Odegaard in the same team, which made even less sense to me when the Norwegian was being deployed from that deeper midfield role which left us without a creative, one touch surgical passer close to the front three, I'm obviously quite glad to have heard some very similar trains of thought today.

The reason why we are underperforming I think is because we play collective football. We play as a unit, if one member is underperforming it will affect the whole team. Our liquid style of playing will not happen, it is the player's sense of responsibility and it's also the manager and us fans job to boost our player morale.

He said they felt fatigue n not robots plus 4th James saying no man city player palyed more than 40 games. Per management question. You just have to look at the trends, stats. Not enough rotation, bench not deep enough and you don't have alternatives to change up the game with fresh legs of a striker, winger for instance.

What's wrong with Saka's quick free kick against Bayern? Didn't it made white through on goal?

Per the fitness and number of games. It wld be so interesting to compare today vs say 1980's and 90's. Those games were all played on heavier pitches, games were physical and fast paced. They wore different gear, heavier and they only had one sub, and often that sub wasn't used. I remember Villa winning the league with 14 players. Can't imagine that happening today.

You can't compare with City because they won a treble last season. They played more games to get to the finals and other competitions. Plus Kdb had a surgery and he is old, its not the same. Rodrigo plays like crazy, moving all over the pitch for 90 minutes in each game and also he has just lost both of his grandparents in a few months, he is tired emotionally not just physically. It's true that the fixtures are crazy and players played to much, but some of this guys are young, barely starting and they are not hungry. Look at Foden, he played more minutes than Saka and Havertz but he doesn't look tired at all. He looks motivated, hungry for minutes and goals. If they are not hungry now, when will they be? This tiredness is mental, the mentality is not in the right place.

For me, from bayern jorgihno and saka gets rested and jesus and partey comes on, front 3 of martinelli, havertz, Jesus

We don't have a creative Center mid. We don't have a goal threat and dead ball specialist for an Attacking Midfielder and we don't have decisive wingers who can hustle and ruffle up defenders at will. Most of all,we don't have a potent striker. We are lacking seriously in the attack.

Arteta has come into the club when it was badly broken, he's rebuilt the club and the squad into what you see today, a team that has challenged for the title twice for the first time in years and got to the Champions League quarter finals, for the first time in 14 years, Arteta's first Champions League campaign. You lot need to give Arteta some bloody respect..... it pisses me off.

( golden - boot winner Aubameyang won the only trophy that Arteta will ever win whilst Nketiah hasn't scored an away goal since 2022) Neither Vieira or Ødegard are better than the World Cup winning midfielder ( Mesut Ozil) that Arteta inherited. Zinchenko is not a better left back( Tierney may be recalled from his loan) than the one Arteta inherited.
